Buying a 2015 F-type V8S sight unseen. My FIL is picking it up since he lives nearby and will check it out for me before the sale. The depreciation on these is insane, 5 years ago it was $100k+! I'm picking it up for just north of $30k. In the last few years, these jags have proved to be a little more reliable than their reputation. And bolt-on mods can easily put out 500+ at the wheels. I really wanted a smallish fast and stylish car, and looked at the vette, the Audi R8 V8, the Aston Martin Vantage V8, and honestly the value was quite a bit more on the jag.

Those are nice cars for the price if all you care about is sporty and comfortable. Otherwise if you wanted fast I'd have gone R8 or Corvette. But if looking at V8 R8, also not that fast but supposed to be a lot of fun. Same for the Aston's, but the Astons I know have a supercharger available. Would assume R8 does too (I know there are TT kits). But then you're getting into big mod money.

Heads up at a stoplight, yes it did. From a dig to about 85mph or so. Not gapped, but I had about a car on him. Then he rolled the window down and said he should go get his Z06 from home older black guy with a super angry wife in the passenger seat. Pretty funny encounter

Stalled out a few times while I was driving. Electronics shut down completely (auto trans). One time while at highway speed. Scary shit for sure.

Especially with that Jag hitting a 121 trap speed. I doubt any C5Z or C6 has come anywhere close to that. If that jag hooks up it’s pulling away steadily from a C5Z or C6, all else being equal.

It literally died many times as I was driving. Then couldn't be diagnosed due to how randomly it occurred. It took a while to figure out and it was awful having that level of anxiety driving that piece of shit. Knowing it could stall out on me at literally any time.

Sounds more like a very minor issue and incompetent mechanics at the dealer...I had a 07 Zo6 for years without a single issue..very reliable cars

There were other electrical gremlins as well. Would've been easier to deal with if it had a manual trans. Then I'd have some control. But yeah. I'd get a Z06. Never again have an auto vette

51k. Dude that I bought it from daily drove it to work everyday 1 hour each way, put nearly 25k on it in one year, mostly highway miles. My FIL has only drove it in eco mode but he says it sufficiently fast and fun to drive. The speedometer goes to 200 mph and he commented that I'll never use it... right. He likes the red leather on the interior matching the top, very stylish.

This car is really fun to drive, and the exhaust is pure sex. You really can't capture the growls, pops and crackles, and the sound of it reverberating off the cliffs. The battery cable was loose though and was causing some electrical gremlins, I am wondering if that was just done because they were shipping it. Anyways, fixed now - ready for this weekend on some nice mountain roads.

Yeah, just picked up a new to me car as well. Already replaced the battery and did the oil change. And am swapping out the rims/tires. It's what I consider to be reliable now
