Very no need to wait (other than the obvious) for summer, roast some snow in that beast!

I had always planned to rip all the interior out to put the dynamat in.

I'll replace the seats while I'm at it if I can find some in time. The interior trim wasn't planned, I just couldn't stand the dyed trim flaking.

That stuff is minimally effective. Do your self a favor and put down Mass loaded vinyl and acoustic strips.

I've had buddies use it with good results, I can definitely add the vinyl if it helps.

My knees are already in bad shape, this really sucks. I should've worn knee pads. I will for the next roll.

Second roll didn't show up so on to the paint before work today. So the paint... It's a really beautiful color but it was never touched after spraying, with anything. It's 4 years old, the clear was sprayed a little dry, and it's hard as a rock. It's probably going to get taken somewhere and wet sanded then buffed but I wanted to see how it would look just wheeled out before taking that plunge.

So Meg's Xtra cut disks and D300. It's pretty impressive stuff for an orbital. I should've ordered some 3" pads for the tight areas but that'll have to wait now.

This little fella was broke inside the column.

Closed cell foam going down now and then the MLV this weekend.

These little guys showed up today too. Should have time to start the box build in a couple weeks.

Thanks, been awhile since I've had a fun project to play with.

Paint is done. Finished it with Gtechnique products. It's not perfect but it's as good as I can get it. My Chemical Guys Torq 10FX took a crap during the correction, replaced it with a Flex 3401, holy boner that things awesome.

Did another coat on the paint and got the sound deadening all done. Ran all the wire for the amp and mocked up the sides in 1/8" MDF. Hopefully start the box build next weekend.

    I hear'ya

I recently sold my TRX-4 cause it pretty much sat on the shelf for the last year or so

Surprisingly, someone on CL picked it up for the same price you can buy it new shipped to your house

Had a bunch of scratches and was full of sand from driving on the beach, but he handed over the cash no questions asked

Some RC people are weird man. I have no clue why people buy stuff for the same price you can buy it new but it happens all the time.

None of these have moved under their own power in at least 3 years, maybe 4.

    thanks man. Slowly getting there.

Pulled all the tint out, probably going to have to replace at least the drivers window/felt. Maybe the tailgate glass too/felt too.

I would ditch the LSx badge, it looks tacky. I would keep trim/badging that would have been put on the vehicle as it rolled down the assembly line.

Have to agree on the LSX badge. Not my thing. I would actually put OEM factory badges back on it.

He did a full restoration on it, although it was rust free (Arizona blazer originally) it was 30 years old. I can't wait for summer to get here so I can start driving it. Definitely way different than the 392 TA but I've wanted a nice square for a long time. Couldn't be happier. With square bodies getting so out of hand price wise I figured if I didn't make a move now I'd never own one.

Definitely not putting stock badges back on. I bought black 6.2 badges for it too (since it came with a 6.2), just seeing if I like either. Probably be badgeless but I wanted to see how it looked. I'm still up in the air if I like it or not. Majority of people on Facebook seemed to like it, I'll reserve judgement until I can get it outside and see it.

It would have to actually run for someone to be able to see it and steal it lol.

They're not too bad. That set on sale was like $2,400 shipped. I wouldn't go with anything cheaper if you actually want to use them. These are pretty decent but they're not even harbor freight toolbox quality. They're thicker than the economy line from them and fully welded but they're pretty thin. Good garage cabinets are stupid expensive.

It's the 241 out of the Denali. He sent it out and had it switched over so it went to the proper side and was a floor shift.

Ignition rack fixed the starting issue.

Started mocking up the new intake today. Old Chinese one definitely had to go. Surprised how close it is considering it's for a 2009 Silverado. Needs a little longer hose between the air box and the intake tube plus a mount cut on the CNC and it should be good to go.

It's an S&B intake. It is a lexan lid with the film still on it. I didn't cut it, just how they came.

I guess a little quicker to see if it’s dirty. That was always my thought. I hAve a cold air on my trucks and I bought one of the AEM dryflow filters for that’s been working great.

Got the air box swap done and it moved under it's own power today (thank God no check engine lights). I hate moving MAF sensors but it turned out ok. Did an oil change on it too, that was good times . Where the drain bolt is the oil shoots all over the front U-Joint so I ordered one of the ball valve plugs for it. Slowly but surely getting things done.

Drivers side battery tray was free but had seen better days so I stripped it and powder coated it in wrinkle black.

Yeah, I have the compressor, I just need to order a bracket for it and finish it up.

That and cruise control are definitely on the list for this year. Cruise should be pretty easy according to Dakota Digital and what they sent me for information.

It's the one that came out of the 2009 Silverado. My buddy has done a couple and said he'd help me do mine when I was ready. I didn't look into it after that.

No idea if that's the right path. After it's back together and the cruise is in I'll start reading. My buddy is doing an LS3/67 Camaro right now so when he gets time I need him to stop and check it out.

I’m running the Vintage Air evap kit with the latest truck compressor and square body condenser, let’s of people running the factory ac stuff with the last truck compressor though

There is a ground on Facebook called “so swapped square body gm trucks” that has more info than you could handle, it’s been helpful for me at times

I'll start reading here when I get bored at work. Thanks, I do belong to that group and search it a lot.

Drove it about 10 miles yesterday. Had a check engine light bouncing on and off, I'm guessing something to do with the MAF sensor. I was too tired to scan it when I got home.

Got a bunch done on the panels. Still a long way to go on them but inching closer.

Trim pieces for the front of each speaker and the amp

Just stuck together with double sided trim tape

Amp side. Amp will be covered up but countersunk in the panel.

About a 1/4 bottle of tightbond holding the 1/4" to the 1/2" piece

6.5" speakers countersunk. These will be covered with trim pieces that are wrapped in vinyl and held on with big magnets.

Sub box actually going together. About half a bottle of tightbond holding it together as well as a bunch of 1.5" stainless screws

All calked up except the top. I only stuck that on with tape until I can make sure it all fits.

Probably could've used some epoxy resin or fiberglass resin to seal it all but I'm pretty much dead trying to keep moving and keep up with work. Should be plenty strong for a little baby 8" sub.

Kick panels are back in. Can't say I'm thrilled with how they fit

Both panels are screwed in. Drivers side needs a little trimming in the rear on the bottom but they both fit well. Need to decide if I'm going to put any epoxy inside the sub box or not so I can finish it up. No idea when they will finally go in for vinyl now that the world is shut down.

Took it rock climbing today too

Going to just run Corbeau sport seats in it. Just have to wait until the world is back to normal, gf is fully out of work so no spending money on it for now.

Need to drill the rest of the speakers for the surrounds but the panels are done until I can get them wrapped in vinyl.

    Engine bay was detailed finally:
