Would still be worth every penny since it will hang with or beat most hypercars costing 10X that amount.

I'd be amazed if it's reliable and without massive bulletins and recalls for normal GM quality

I mean, I certainly wouldn't recommend buying it the first year at least.

fwiw, this is supposedly the car that was breaking the rear glass on the engine compartment during initial testing.

I'm curious what's going to be the main fail

Depends on whether they hook the electric motor directly to the front wheels or to the transmission with the gas engine's power going through it.

Yeah I'm sure the engineers will completely overlook doubling the stress on the drivetrain.

People will plan on driving these far more than they would a Lambo. And a shitload more for production

What crazy reliability issues does the Huracan have?

There's going to be people that use it as their primary (only) car. And if they have all kinds of shit wrong with them, then many people will be stranded.

Just in general, cars like Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc. Have terrible reliability because people who but then don't daily drive them, and they are also rich so they don't care about paying to have them fixed.

I just don't get why supercar manufacturers hat a free pass to build a finnicky POS while GM is expected to have regular-car reliability on their 900hp supercar.

Modern day Ferrari and especially Lamborghini powertrains are pretty bulletproof. There's a few lambos out there with over 100k with just routine maintenance used by rental companies no less. McLarens are the only iffy ones apparently, especially with their electronics as nbmplano has found out .

I have full faith that GM will fuck up the transmission aspect, whatever form it takes.

so the chevy NSX moniker was correct?

GM and honda must be in a battle to see who can shit on their previous car's legacy the most.

Of course routine maintenance on them is a big more involved and expensive than most cars...

Forget the halo version of the C8, let's just take the base, as cheap as you can get, C8.

At 60 grand, the Corvette with the least amount of options selected, does the Corvette name proud. Make the base model reliable and it's all a win in my book.
