I totally agree. I want one again, but then again I'd also want some backseat room

Back in the 70s and earlier, youd pack three or even four people in a regular cab because nobody cared about wearing seatbelts.

Do you really think they quit offering an option that was in demand?

there's a difference in no demand vs concentrating on other demand they can push for more profit margins.

I know you already know the answer to that but just so ID can see it, it means more profit margin because that's what most truck buyers actually want to buy.

that and a regular cab vs a 4dr is a $6600 difference with no other options and same trim level.

you can buy an entire chevy spark for less than $14k.

so you could buy a regular cab for $6k less and then purchase a spark for $14k

so two cars combined for an extra $8K over the price of a crew cab for the same capabilities

plus taxes, maintenance, additional parking, insurance. well and owning a chevy spark

    math checks out

Nice concept but that rendering is terrible. Start with a white, long bed regular cab in work truck trim? Then add 5th Gen Z28 wheels and tires, lowered, and a black hood essentially.

I miss my 2004 1500 rcsb - it was the perfect vehicle for me when I was 20 years old and in college. I’d never buy another one, unless is was a 2001 Lightning. But fuck buying a used 20 year old truck.

The supercharged 5.4 triton was a really good motor. A pulley swap and some other small mods and they were pushing 500 hp

Ran into a customer a while back with a red 1st gen at his business. Looked pretty straight overall.
We chatted about Stangs a bit, and he eventually mentioned that he had 320,000mi on it.
    Original engine, and trans.

That’s only if you’re lucky. If you actually have to change the plugs they’ll probably break off in the head in several pieces and you have to use a special tool built specifically for that motor to pull out the pieces. Or take it to a dealer, where they usually charge 700-1100 to change plugs in the 5.4s.

That is a big part of why I am hanging on to my 96. I bought it just a few months before I met my wife so it was what we drove on dates, what we drove to our honeymoon, what we brought our first baby home from the hospital in..
A ton of sentimental value tied up in that thing.

The interesting piece of irony is that the one with the plug problems is neither a 2 valve or a four valve.

As a rcsb fan, I am more comfortable in it, a crew cab would be a clutter catcher for me, I would have 15 jackets in the back seat before winter was over, then when the day came that I actually needed to ride people in the back, there wouldn't be any room. I couldn't see plowing snow in a crew cab, I would find it harder because your always looking when backing, but I guess that's where that new back up camera would come in handy.

I love rcsb trucks just for the styling, but odds are if I do buy a new truck within the next couple of years it will be a crew cab. I want something that could pull a trailer with either a pontoon boat or some atvs, so it would be silly to have to take 2 vehicles to wherever when I can just get like a Ford crew cab XL and have seating for 6 (assuming they still do a split bench in the lower trim truck).
