Don't understand why they picked this car to photograph. White was a terrible color for this car with the panel gaps, and the paint doesn't even match the bumper cover. Should have gone with a dark colored one... not like they are ultra rare.

They talk about the 1986 turbo, but that is a 1988 10th Anniversary Edition, which is a pretty iconic second gen. That’s why they chose that car.

The 10AE is rather rare and it’s a car borrowed from Mazda’s collection.

Currently soft shopping for a three rotor third gen or clean stock/lightly built second gen turbo... or a 996 C2

I had a 10th, and it was a blast to drive. Like most turbo rotaries, it had quirks, but it handled wonderfully.

A clean 10AE is still a $20k because the paint had such a bad habit of not staying attached to the car. There are a couple in need of a little love for under $8k on rx7club right now

My bad. First car I drove was an ‘83 GXL... not much power but it was a fun car. ‘Course it was like 2300 lbs. lol

To be fair there are a ton of 30 year old cars out there that are pristine.

A buddy in high school had one of those, swapped in a turbo ii motor with some basic upgrades. It hauled ass.

Not hard to make a 2300 lb car move out. Or stop. Or change direction.
