Is that 4200lbs accurate? God damn. I don't understand why anyone would want to race a car that heavy. For street lights, sure. Track? No thank you

Saw the fluid capacities on the car and it's ridiculous
Somebody weighed out the fluids and it came in as the following
    17.7L coolant-43lbs
    11L of oil-22lbs
The exact amount of fluid in the DCT isn't out but its said to be a lot and the DCT is heavier to begin with, it's weight wet is 229.5lbs, the old 6spd wet is around 115-120.

Then add is 16.5" front rotors and 14.5 rear rotors on 20" wheels
Then SC and all it's components added in and thats the weight gain over the base GT right there.

I wonder what the CFTP will weigh in, maybe they can cut 150-200lbs from the overall weight, the wheels at 20" should save near 100lbs.

It's really not that big of a surprise. The C7 ZR1 is 300lbs heavier than the base C7 and it's got CF brakes, thats easily a 100lb savings over the base rotors. If the GT500 had CF brakes it would have gained about the same amount of weight the ZR1 gained and the 500 has the heavy DCT, so they cut some weight somewhere in there.

DCT's are great for the track but still not the biggest fan of them for everyday street cars.

Still waiting for the media embargo to end on this thing. People are slated to receive their car this month, but the mags still have no data on. Nobody knows any stats, other than 0-100-0.

I'm guessing cooling is driving a lot of this, especially on "track cars"

    that's every car now basically.

james may was right about how the nurburgring ring ruined cars, it also ruined styling. everything has to have a 2002 front end now.

On a shit prepped track (you could hear the car losing traction off launch and in the 1-2, 2-3, and the 3-4 shifts), also in air north of 2500da.
They broke into the 10's, but those numbers will be discussed when the embargo lifts at the end of this week according to multiple people on the different Mustang boards (take it for what it's worth at this point).
The mph alone indicates it's going to me a mid 10 if you can hook.

was the new vette even run on a drag strip? I was under the assumption the big auto mags test on non prepped street surfaces.

I am in no way a Ford homer. Right now my garage have one Chevy and 2 fords in it, and one of those Fords is a Raptor which GM has absolutely no answer for me to cross shop. Over the past 20 yrs I've had 3 GM cars 4 Fords (one is a rolling chassis for a eventual race car),and a freaking Nissan, a Jeep, a Scout International, a Honda Prelude and 2 Civics.

No clue but nobody has released real numbers on this car so we really have no clue what happening. Word is it's under 11 seconds, who know. Those drivers at Las Vegas this last weekend were prior owners as well as the press. We have no clue what press guys got on their run down the track, but will know in a few days.

10.61 @ 133mph, at the 3min mark of the video ( at Bradenton, Florida)
Apparently the best time run at the LV track was a 10.89 @ 130.32mpg (shown at the start of the video).
The car will be a monster at Atco if it's running these times in freaking FL and LV.

    Now we're talking!

    Was a little bummed by the 11.0 @ 128.

Mid 10's stock on stock tires is awesome.
