How Cruising in a 2019 Chevrolet Blazer in Detroit is Different

Somewhere between Detroit and Dearborn, cruising the potholed I-94 freeway, I saw frantic arms and big smiles coming from a late-model Chrysler 300 in the next lane. Two young guys, baseball caps on backwards and slouched down for the posture you are supposed to adopt in a used 300 in the Motor City, were grinning […]

I can relate. I drove one for a few days while my old truck was in for service. I had quite a few people stop, look and compliment that thing. I haven't experienced that since the C7 came out. I was pretty surprised by the general reaction that folks had.

It was a fully loaded FWD Premier.

I wouldn't say the powertrain is boring. I thought the 3.6 felt just right in the Blazer. 300+ horsepower is now boring?

    Cool Traverse.
The 3.6 does move the Traverse quite well though

I saw a white one a few weeks ago and was surprised that it didn't look just awful.

Depends what it's in. 310hp v6 in the new Supra would be pretty fun. 310hp v6 in a suv? Yawnnnnnn

Couldn't even get them to drop an LT4 in an Escalade Vsport. That shit would've been a printing press at $120K.

Sad. Maybe they're holding out for putting the new twin turbo cammer motor into an escalade?

I recently had a V6 camaro as a rental. That little 335hp V6 felt pretty good, even up here in Colorado where it's losing 60+hp to the altitude.

I like the RS, and really like the interior. I like the Grand Cherokee a little better though.

I just don't see that thing getting compliments. It is a yawn fest.

Agree. The styling is vanilla with the little black specs of vanilla bean in it which make it special.

“Exciting” exterior styling for a 2 row suv, but I hate the look of the interior.

    They’ll probably sell decent though.

If I waited another year I’d strongly consider this over my terrain.

But I love my terrain, the 2.0 turbo provides just enough power. 250hp 260 tq and I think it weights 3800.

    If I had 300hp I’d feel a little better.

It surprised me too. People really liked it though.

I do like it much better in person than in pics. The RS looks great.
