What's this 1999 Hugger Orange worth??

Hey guys...I'd like to get a general feel for what you think the realistic value is for a car i have run across. I'm looking at a 1999 Hugger Orange Camaro SS with 6 speed and 19k miles. The interior is the light brown and appears to be in great shape. It has the five spoke chrome wheels. I'm hours away from the car so i have only seen pictures but it seems to be in excellent condition and is stock. Asking price is way high in my opinion, at $17,000. It's quite funny seeing some of the asking prices of some of these old 4th gens if you look on autotrader. What would you pay?

Not that high IMO. Someone is bound to pay close to that if it really is in excellent condition.

    This

It's a rare color with the right miles. I too could see somebody stepping up for it. It's not like you are just going to find another under 20K mile example for sale at the same time.

I don't think I've ever seen a HOSS with tan interior. I would have thought all were either grey or white leather. With that being said, it's probably an $18-20k car IMO.

    Here it is...

    https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=239222267

I actually don't think the asking price is too terrible (I saw the ad last week). If it didn't have tan interior, I'd try to put a deal together...

Get it as close to $15k as you can....

Low mileage 4th gens are on the upswing. Especially rare and desirable colors. He probably isn’t too far off on price.

That car should never have been allowed to leave the factory with that interior in it.

I like it. Price isn't out of line at all. I'd love to have it, even with the taupe interior.

I don't mind the interior. It's way better than a yellow Z06 with the mod red interior.

I don't hate the interior, just never knew they made any in taupe. I'd bet that's a very rare combo. Especially for a dealer, I think it's a fair price. There may be 1-2 other low mileage HOSS cars for sale in the country right now?

Probably so. Guaranteed it won't last long. OP better buy it before it's gone. I'm still kicking myself for missing a 4k mile 10th Anniversary Firehawk M6 for $22k a couple of months back. With low mileage f-bodies that aren't priced crazy high, you snooze you lose.

On one of the big facebook fbody groups, there's a 25 mile 35th anniversary car for sale. Hasn't priced it yet that I saw though, was looking for opinions.

17k is probably in the ball park for an uncommon color and very low miles like that.
It'll sell and it'll probably sell soon. Low mile cars don't last long and easily go for over 15k pretty regularly.

I like the Hugger SS's. I can see someone stepping up and paying that price for this car. It's nice to see prices going up a little on these 4th gens.

That is CRAZY low for a Hawk. Whoever bought that stole it. Wow, makes me a bit jelly

edit: Read more, looks like there are multiple mechanical issues with the car, so that's probably the reason it sold low.

Not sure what they are typically going for these days but that one needed some work, regardless of the low mileage.

Most of the cosmetic issues are pretty common on any F-body from 2001-2002 like the cracked door panels and the bubbling roof halo. The bumper and hood paint issues are pretty common on SLP cars too. Especially ones that sat outside a lot.

Good to see all the different responses. I guess their asking price isn't too far off when you really think about it. I had originally sent a low ball offer, not really expecting to hear back. Of course a salesman called and i offered $12k but was rejected. Sure, it might be worth $15k+ but I dont really want to pay that much or drive 6 hours to see it.

I'd love to have that car. If I won the lotto I'd have no problem paying 17K for that car.

The good old days when 17" wheels were normal for performance cars.

I think any fbody that has been out in the sun for more than a day has bubbling on it. GM GLUED the part down and the glue seeps up through the fiberglass. Even if you have it sanded/painted, it's going to continue to bubble up over time. I've also heard they're impossible to remove without destroying them, so there is no easy fix.

When I had the SS repainted they wet-sanded the sail panel. I had them try 5 different times to get all of the moisture out because it kept bubbling bad as the sun would pull the moisture up (but never through the paint) and they could never get it right.

Mine has very minor bubbling. I think it being white has helped simply due to reflecting the sun. A friend of mine has a black SS and it's bubbled really bad. I could be totally wrong though.

Yep. iirc, that part is now discontinued as well. Someone needs to get to making a replacement. Not that carbon fiber crap either.

What the heck do you need Corbeaus for? You gonna start road course racing it?

There's multiple leveles seats when it comes to Corbeaus. I put Corbeaus sports in my Jeep and love them. They were a much better option than having the old ones recovered.

I ended up doing the 6LE panel, it wasn't bad, couldn't stand the bubbling. It was a decent quality piece, not sure if that's still the case

You think that's high, you should have seen the price when GM still had them.

    $1,057.77

Looks good, and I've looked at them before, but I just have very little desire to do any audio stuff these days. I'd rather put money towards some more go fast stuff before that. Still have a lot on my list I want to do

I wish I would have bought a Stealthbox instead of the Q-Logic.

I was pretty impressed. Fits pretty well. I read some hit and miss reviews on tech

I also put a shift light inside the air vent at the same time
