    Kindig It Designs, Bitchin' Rides

Any of you hosers still watch this show? I think I have seen every episode. I love their work. Out of a mix of boredom and curiosity I looked up their site and what it would run to have them restore your car.

1st. You have to submit a written application with pictures of your car for them to consider the project.
2nd. If they find your project interesting and you are accepted and you get put on their waiting list.
3rd. For a full restore/rebuild, you are looking at a minimum of 250 grand. They will do other smaller jobs that obviously wouldn't cost that amount, but for a car like my 68 that needs new quarters, rockers, in addition to other body work, interior, wiring, suspension, drivetrain, ...etc. You have a minimum of 250 grand.

    http://www.kindigit.com/wp-content/u...Build-Form.pdf

As crazy as that is they have a waiting list so long right now that they are no longer accepting new customers. This guy is just printing money.

The reality aspect of the show is lame, but his builds are amazing. Never tacky or obnoxious imo. They really know what they're doing

Spend $250k to have a restored car worth $50k

    Sounds like a brilliant idea

I am sure a Kindig car sells for more than 50 grand but I doubt it will ever give you a return. I mean who is going to pay 300+ grand for a 1st gen Camaro with an LS3? He is one of the top dudes in the game, but it would have to be a car you plan to keep forever with money you don't need.

I’d spend my money with Mark Steilow on a pro touring Camaro. Maybe with an engine package from Nelson Racing Engines.

Mark Stielow is the man if you want to track a first gen Camaro. I would choose him or Kyle and Stacey Tucker at Detroit Speed.

I will cut you a deal on some mid 90s Boyd Coddington paint schemes. The scallops are to die for.

I will build you one using a 1986 Bettle from Mexico. The drivetrain is out of a 1973 Porsche 914. I got the seats and carpet from a 1982 Winnebago.

The upside is I can put it together for you for 325 bucks vs. 325 grand.

I can email you the application forms in the morning. The deposit can be paid via Western Union or iTunes cards.

They definitely do amazing work. The metal work alone is awesome. And I agree the reality parts suck, I often fast forward past their 'jokes.'

Anyone catch the new show Hand Built Hot Rods? They are the ones who built Joe Rogan's Nova. It's a good show. They don't do that reality crap, just focus on building the car. The voice over dude is annoying though

Yep! I think his daughter is sick because shes lost a ton of weight.

I like about 75% of what KindigIt does. On some of the cars, he goes a bit too far with the custom work.

Is that his daughter? But yeah, I've noticed that too, she's gotten super thin in the newer episodes. Would still plow

even if you were hung like a tictact, she'd be broken in half. She looks to weigh like 80lbs.

A backhalved Monte Carlo SS with a ram jet 350 and a th400 will put you in the 8s. My Unclle/Grandpa has one.He puts a 100 dollar bill on the dash and says if you can grab it when he hits the gas you get to keep it. No one has been able to grab it yet.

He isn't allowed to launch under full throttle anymore. He was making the earth counter spin when he put his Nitto DRs on and went to a prepped track. Trump called him personally and talked to him about it.

So now he runs no prep on bald BF Goodrich tires. He spins all the way down the track.

We toured Chip Foose's shop last time we were out in Huntington Beach, the stuff they were working on was amazing. When questioned about prices, the guides answer was they are a "time and material shop". After looking at 2 of the cars in the shop, I am confident both were over $250K. Foose has always said, "You are only as good as your next customer will allow you to be".

Before a recent divorce, my friend used to go racing with these guys. He told me stories of doing 130mph down A1A in this thing:

I went to a place local to me the other day to discuss my Camaro. It's called Rehab Garage and they do really clean work. Anyway they had a 1968 911 sitting in their shop. The thing looked brand new. I asked the shop owner if they did a full resto on the car. They said no it was all original, had never been restored, and had less than 20,000 miles on it. So I was like, so what are you guys doing?

They said the owner was driving the car and the engine seized up.

Supposedly (no way for me to verify) it is a one owner that has always been garage kept, never driven in anything but the sunshine.

I can respect that, but an idle car needs just as much, if not more maintenence than a regularly used one. Sounds like he saw 20k miles and expected 20k mile reliability, even though the car was 50 years old

My 6,000 mile Turbo T needed a bunch of stuff addressed: rear, fuel, radiator, radio, springs, vacuum hoses, windshield washer pump, etc.... Nothing I wasn't really expecting, but a few misc items pissed me off. I would have been better off buying a mint condition 70,000 mile car.

As would I, but I guess the owner can handle the cost and it is at a good shop, but I have to imagine that the car's value stands to take a massive hit. Maybe the engine can be rebuilt and the drivetrain stays all orginal, but if they have to swap in a new engine then the car loses a bit of what makes it cool.

I haven't yet received your deposit on the beetle build. My waiting list is growing, I can still fit you in but I can't wait much longer. I got a guy with a 1985 F250 that wants me to do some custom paint work on his home made flat bed that he put on the truck. He has cash in hand so I will have to move him up if I don't hear from you soon. We are trying to get it ready for SEMA, well I mean we're trying to get it ready to show at a Walgreens parking lot in the outskirts of Vegas on the same week as SEMA. This job could be the ticket I need to get my custom car shop off the ground.

We're also in talks to do some curb feeler applications on a 1992 Cadillac Brougham. It will be more art than anything, but I am sketxhingbit out now and if I can get what I have in my head on to paper I think it will come out killer.
