It does look pretty good. I don't like the ranger badge on the side but nothing else really to gripe about.

Ford has a testing facility in AZ, I bet it was here for that, but I think it's up near Phoenix. Were you near Tucson or farther East? Some gnarly trails out near the Chiricahua Mountains East of Willcox.

I was out by Benson coming in westbound from NM and so was he. You could read the RANGER stamped in the tailgate from a half mile behind. As I got closer it got bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and I swore it was about the same size as a 90's F150

I want a true bare bones minitruck like you could get in the 90s. My first truck was a 1993 Nissan regular cab, 4 cyl/5 speed. It was perfect, it got greag gas mileage, it was useable as an actual truck for light duty work, and it was incredibly inexpensive. I wish the manufacturers would offer that today.

I still don't understand why it took so long to bring that back to the US. We had one on base in Iraq last year. Different front end but the rest was pretty much the same.

They're just too damn expensive, compared to what you get for a full size, and the same $.

Also, that's some pretty uninterested drivetrain.

I would go full size all the way, but these trucks do have a place, younger people without kids who want a slightly smaller truck, and older people (like my neighbor), who want a truck, but don't need a full size.

I'm not sure why they aren't optioning a v6, but I'm pretty sure a small diesel will be offered.

I dunno, I have the F150 and I might spring for a slightly smaller truck with the same motor (lighter, quicker)

I've owned several compact trucks -- a Datsun, 2 Toyotas, and an S-10.

I would have owned more but they stopped making them.

And although other parts of the world get a Ranger Raptor, the off-road version expected to be unveiled next month is not for North America.
    of course not.

You can thank our own government for that and all of the other trucks that we don't get here.

Do you think Ranger will, in any configuration, hit 31 mpg HW? This is with the announced 2.3tt engine. Asking for a friend.

Looks decent, but it's too big. People want a smaller sized truck, and no one is bothering to listen.
