New from the ground up and riding on a new platform, it also gets a redesign after criticism the current generation did not make enough […]

    3.6 as the base engine

Nothing like having a 7,200rpm engine in a full size truck.

"Expectation". I don't see why they'd off the 4.3 after it just got a complete redesign.

It will work fine for regular cab fleet use trucks used by contractors and small businesses.

It's a good looking truck, I'm interested to see the updates done to the 5.3 and 6.2 and the new towing numbers.

I need to see a RCSB with a 6.2 and a 2/4 drop. Then I can decide if I like it or not.

Oh and make it black with whore red interior as a nod to the 454SS.

Looks humongous. Lower front corner of front fender is ugly. I'm sure they will be great trucks though.

I'm not big on the looks, but from those pictures, it does look better than the current version.

    Overall, I like the design.

-Some things I don't like are the placement of the badges on the fenders. First thing I'd do is take them off. I think they would look better on the front doors, down lower.
-The grill on the Custom is awful.
-Not sure I like the storage bins in the rear seats. Seems like something waiting to rattle.
-I like the trail boss package but the black bumpers kill the look. I'd have to get a black one if I were looking at that model.
-I'm really surprised that the interior didn't get more of an upgrade. The infotainment screen looks tiny compared to the Dodge.
-Still no option to replace the column shifter. I personally don't mind a column shifter but imo, the higher end trucks need to offer a console or dial shift.
-RST trim looks like a great package. That'll probably be my next truck.
-I guess the power tail gate is cool. The current ones are so light and easy to lift that a power one just seems like a waste.
    -Rear air vents, FINALLY!

Didn't noticed till I watched the video again. They fucked up with their version of the ram box in the bed. You have to reach over the bed rail causing you to scratch the shit out of the paint with your zippers, belts, etc.

That screen really annoyed me. I notice it on the current trucks so I absolutely expected it to be improved in the incoming models. Damnit GM.

I don't have any issues with the current screen. It's not too big or small and everything works well. I'm just surprised that GM didn't make a little larger with the new interior. The software will probably newer but the screen is the same size as the current gen.

Yeah. While the center stack itself looks really out of place, the screen is pretty bad ass. I watched a video on it and it's really cool. Probably a little too much for a lot of folks but I like the effort.

I thought the Rams current 8" size upgrade screen was the perfect size without getting too big. This one ups it to another level. I don't think it would be too bad if it had a fewer physical switches around it making it a little more cleaner.

I hear what you're saying but I've been reaching over the bed rail of my trucks for years and I've never scratched the paint. I would imagine that if you're trying to store or retrieve large objects from the box, you would just climb up in the bed and not reach over the bed rails.

Same. If you're worried about reaching over into the bed of your truck then you don't need a truck. That's what the bed is for.

Very few people will buy those storage boxes anyway. From my experience, it's mainly old men that care about putting shit in some sort of tool box in the bed and if they have one, it's usually the one that goes at the front of the bed, it's 25 years old and it has been in their last 3-4 trucks.

That screen is almost laughingly small or at least it appears to be with all the space around it. I also dislike the tailgate with the stamped Chevrolet which looks like it came from the parts bin from the 2003 Avalanche.

I wonder if you'll have the option to just get one...........I can see myself having uses for one for sure. I have a few things stored under the back seat of my current truck and it would be nice to have those items stored in that type of space

Gave me a good excuse to trade it

Glad they are adding them... way overdue!

It's one of the top complaints we hear about the trucks here. I too never understood how that got past the designers.

My kids said the same thing. And they are right. I bought a Denali and it has no rear air vents? WTF?

My 06' LT trim Silverado has rear vents.
Can't imagine why GM took so long to catch up to itself.

i can't wait to see one with leveling kit and some bigger tires. Which will be easier to do with the rounded fenders
