I've been lurking here for a while knowing that someday your combined knowledge would be of help. I'm picking up a wrecked 2013 Caprice PPV 9C1 with 85K miles. There doesn't appear to be any damage to the drivetrain and all the fluids look and smell good. I plan on pulling the drivetrain to swap into a '59 Rambler station wagon (4-door, not American) which is about 1400 pound lighter than the Caprice

The engine is an L77 with 5364 heads. I'm going to remove the AFM and VVT hardware. In stock trim the engine is rated at 355HP and 384 lb/ft of torque. I'd like to take these numbers a bit north of 400 but south of 450. This will be my daily driver from April to October so I'd also like good street manners and respectable fuel mileage. I'm looking for a commute that will put a smile on my face, not a weekend warrior. What's the best camshaft to balance out these requirements? For budget reasons, I'd like to reuse the stock pushrods but replacing them isn't a deal breaker.

Many thanks,

- Doc
