It will have to come back out 1 more time so I can clean everything up and paint it, I also need to adjust the recline while its out. The seat back doesn't move in the new trucks, the bottom folds up, so the way its configured now the "recline" is just a hard stop that I have to cut away at to adjust the pitch.

Ive had a cam sitting on the work bench since Christmas, ive got everything else needed to put it in and a 2800 stall now. I think im going to tear the truck down Memorial Day weekend and get everything installed

The hardest thing to do is tear down a running and driving vehicle, but Ive got to get it done

That is cool, I am glad to see you made it work. I have been wrestling with what to do for a front seat for my yellow one. I see third seats for Tahoes for sale at swap meets and such and didn't know what it would take to install.

I have 2 quotes on doing the factory bench in distressed leather with stitched diamonds in the center, $1500 and $1750. I am waiting until it's closer to getting on the road before I do anything. I'm in the middle of installing a new Pypes exhaust, complete brake job, and rebuilding the suspension.

What dash pad is that? TMI? What color?

Oh, I and I have been meaning to ask since your familiar with these swaps. I had searched and didn't see any information. What would it take to put a newer L77 and 6 speed auto in there from a Caprice PPV? Will the oil pan and accessories work as is?

Seems high for the seat, ive been quoted as low as $600 for a stock style recover in vinyl, have you looked at Snowden seats? iirc hes around 1200 for a complete seat and does great work.

TMI dash pad, I dont hate it, but I dont love it, Its black with red stitching that I now wish was white.

Im not familiar with the oil pan on that that setup, if its the same as a G8 I think you will have to swap it. I personally would recommend using Tejas Steelworks motor mounts and a truck pan, this bring the motor up and forward and allows you to use stock truck AC compressor and mounting location.

Not sure on that configuration, but you can always go with dirty dingo style brackets and an F-Body pan.

Snowden quoted $1500 for something similar to this with metal buttons in the sitting area:

    https://azproperformance.com/product...at-upholstered

I was going to use the Tejas Steelworks trans crossmember and order the LS mounts just to have for when I am ready. They have a LS swap guide of Facebook but the file is corrupted.

I think your right with going LS. This old school SBC is neat but the truth is, for just a little more money, the LS is the way to go.

Finding just the rear seat would likely be a bitch as everyone steals, I mean sells, the whole set usually. I got lucky on this one but ill keep my eye out

C10’s in the park today for all you local folks, should be around 1000 trucks this year depending on how many Houston folks don’t make it

680 miles the past weekend going to Houston for Lonestar Throwdown

got ~14mpg on a windy ass day going down at 90-100mph and 17+ on the way home doing 75-80 - much excite here because it gets about 11.5mpg around town

Headed to Mobile for a show at the beginning of May which will be the final shakedown before long hauling the Hot Rod Power Tour this year for the first time

How do you like that steering wheel? Horn work ok? I almost ordered one but aftermarket horns are usually trash. It looks awesome.

Wheel is nice, only issue is that its always hot/cold depending on the weather. Horn works better than the old Grant wheel for sure.

This is one of my favorite squares of all time, and I liked it more when it was solid, without the white down the middle

The white definitely improved that truck. Squarebodies almost don't look right in a solid color.
