Full size van beating a ZR1 at the drag strip! Video proof.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAa7Dsq15Oc
Rode out to the track with my friends in the turbo van. My friend Tyler came up with the concept about a year ago. He wanted a all wheel drive Chevy Express Van with the 5.3L engine and then have it turbo'd. My friend Jon is the one who fabricated the turbo setup (he built my 10.0 sec rear mount setup as well).
The video is the end result so far. Van has a stock 5.3 with 6.0 heads and a z06 cam, 4l80e transmission. It's a total sleeper.
Turbo Van Pics
That last pic is the best. Two GTRs, a ZR1, a Trans Am that was running high 10's and everyone wanted to look at a freaking Van.
DA was 4900 at 11pm. Since I was spectating all night I got to see a lot of stuff running really slow.
Two different C6 Z06's were in the mid-low 13's. By the end of the night the one ran a 12.7 @ 114 mph. There were 2 GTRs there and the fastest I saw was mid 12's @ 115-118.
Lotta fun

I hope he got everything for free, because nothing in the world would make me want to dump money modding a van.

I think its cool as shit but I saw your asian buddy posting it on another forum, where the project got a bit more love.
Seeing some pics of 1320jon's projects, my guess is bottom 13s out of that thing is just the beginning.

Nope, I would take the ZR1 also. yes the van is fast, but it's well known the ZR1 is faster, they just beat a bad driver.

This was a test and tune or an open night right? Did the van specifically line up against the Vette for a race, or did they just randomly go together? It didn't look to me like the dude in the Vette was trying to cut a good light.

WAY TO TOTALLY MISS THE POINT OF THE VIDEO
I guess, I was the ONLY one to notice the A-Team theme.
After that, no matter what the Vette does, the Vans gonna win

The Vette was asked to race in the staging lines.
The ZR1 is an awesome machine that has been setup with the wrong wheel/tire combination from the factory.

If you guys hate seeing the van beating a ZR1 just wait, it should be able to beat the majority of the 600cc bikes that run at the track on a Midnight Mayhem in a few months LOL. That night at the track there were at least 10 600cc bikes with the fastest one running 11.5's @ 122. The rest all ran mid 12's at 115-119.

Enough bench racing, someone find me video of a stock ZR1 at the track on the stock tires, I can't find any. So you my want to bash on this ZR1 driver, but he did take it to the drag strip and try.

umm you're bashing the driver by bragging about this van, and now we are benching racing because we are saying the vette is faster.
but what i really get from your last post is that you think this van is faster than a zr1, and could take him again and again . which is fine, but makes you a tard

Lulz, no kidding. The van is just a goofy thing that was done for a someone who wanted something quick that he could haul his family around in and take trips, go camping, etc. Every time we go out in the van prowling for races we're in tears from laughter. It's just wrong on so many levels.
When we went to the track there were 5 of us in the van, a family sized order of chicken from el pollo loco and 2 gallons of powerade. It was an absolute blast.
