Bunch o Pics: Koni Lower Perch & !Isolator vs Eibach Pro-kits
Finally bit the bullet and decided to get a set of Pro-kits. Got a great deal off Ebay, yeah.. sorry Sam
Anyway, I threw these puppies on over the weekend. Before pics are with STOCK springs on the lower Koni Perch + Rear Isolator removed. The after pics, I left the Koni perch in the same 'lowered' position but I put the rear isolator back on to give it a raked look. You were right Mr. Strano, way to low up front!
I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking. Needless to say I was scrapin my Y-pipe clamp all over the place. Gonna raise the front Koni's back to the 'stock' perch asap. I can't even use my Rhino ramps (known to work with lower cars) now I'm so low!

Oh and just to amuse you, here's a couple of pics showing my HIDDEOUS STOCK 4x4!!!
Check out this doosey!

Sweet, Thanks for the Pics Mike!
I got Koni's on order from Sam right now, and am going to purchase a pro-kit soon. Pondered the same ideas myself..

Just got the pro-kit w/ the Koni SA's up front and Bilstein HD's on the rear. I ended up using the top perch on the front and still in need of adj. panhard and relocation brackets
Ride quality is much improved over the air setup I used to have and stability in the corners is already much improved, but have only ran it at 50% since I still have yet to seek comfort in it
How's the ride on yours and how has cornering improved?

Ride is very comfortable.
I haven't gotten an alignment yet so I'm running all kinds of negative camber, I'd say maybe even in the -2 range. Haven't really tossed it around yet since I'm more concerned about scrapin my Y-pipe off.
Once I raise it back up, get an alignment, then I'll go rippin her thru a parking lot.

I didn't need the adjustability. Just set it once and forget. Mainly did it for cosmetic reasons to get rid of the 4x4.

Thanks.
I'm thinking Boyd Timeless 5's as my daily driver wheels, then a nice set of 15" Bogarts for my track wheels... Be nice if my wallet was agreeing with me though...

EDIT: I bought it brand new in November of 2001. It had 13 or so miles on it. $24,600 fully loaded. Sticker was right at $29,100 I think.
Yeah, just bug guts... That was a morning after a good night at brackets, and I was mainly just taking pictures of the kids in the yard, but snapped a few of my car.
I like this picture.

For some wierd reason, I wanted to drive it over to the friend's GF's house. (I hardly take the Hawk out of the garage, usually only on sunny weekends)
Round 11ish pm when I was headed home I got dumped on by a flash flood storm. You can see the condensation from the engine heat on the passenger side intake.
First time I really had a chance to see a uniform bead up on the multiple coats of Zaino I had put down... plus it was dark out so it helped even more once I went and grabbed the digi camera.

How much does the lower perch on the Koni shocks lower the car? I've got BMR springs and I'm going to install them soon and if its not low enough for me I was wanting the heater hose mod and the lower perch. Do you think it would sit too low for a daily driver?

01 Red WS6, lower perch lowers you another ~3/4 of an inch. You can see my stock picks at the end of my first post, and compare those against the pics of I have of my stock springs w/ the lower perch / !rear isolator.
For a DD, I'd DEFINATELY just do the springs first!!! I had to raise the Koni Shock back up to the stock setting cause I was scraping everything like crazy w/ my Jet Hot Y. Speed bumps.. HA! No way!

The Sportlines are very low as well as a weak spring rate. This causes the suspension to bottom out a lot. That is bad if you want to go fast because it upsets the tires grip. They are mainly for slow cruising and looking good, not going fast. They are not recommended for the majority of people.
Ideally, the lower you go the more spring rate you need to prevent the suspension from bottoming out. Make sense? The Prokit is a much better compromise in ride height and spring rate. They are much more suitable to most people.

The speed bumps that are like 5 feet wide? If I go slowly I don't scrape at all.

These look more like a frickin wall than a speedbump. I ask the guy who built them what the hell he was thinking and he told me he didn't realize he was building the great wall of China
