    2005 GTO LS2 Oil Capacity 5 Qts or 6.5?

I just got through changing my 05 Goat's oil with Mobil 1. The owner's manual says the capacity is 6.5 Qts. I only got less then 5 out with the filter removed. What gives? I checked for multiple oil drain plugs under the oil pan plate and there was only 1 plug, so I'm assuming no baffles. I'm going to check the stick with 5 qys in and see. I hope I did'nt leave some dirty oil in there somewhere.

Stick Says 5 qts of fresh clean oil in the middle of the 'operating range', so I guess the owner's manual has a typo...

I just had the dealer do my first oil change since free oil and lube service is included for the first 3 yr/36,000 mi. They put in 6 qts plus filter change and my dip stick showed low so I added 1/2 qt and it still was a hair under the full, so I believe the manual is correct at 6.5 qts with filter change. Are you sure you had the dip stick FULLY inserted? Also sometimes level ground isn't always as level as it looks. This could be decieving and affect the level on the stick. Aloha, from Hawaii
