Smile Thinking of getting a Terrain

    Ď18 Denali 2.0.

Whatís the best deal Iíd be able to get on something optioned like this.

    http://m.gmc.com/locate-vehicle-deta...ALXEX6JL150116

Any thoughts on the car and how the competitors fare.

Tired of driving a Cruze with manual transmission in rush hour traffic.

Considering it's a new model, I'd be surprised if you could get more than a few grand off MSRP.

I told myself I’d never buy another GM car unless I get the 20% off MSRP deal....that comes around every December. What are the chances a new Model year would be discounted?

yeah, typically that's only on leftover current models IIRC. what made you get rid of the SS so quickly?

Just personal preference based on looks. I don't like the new Terrain at all.

It wasn’t worth it to me. I never drove it and didn’t really utilize the power.

It definitely felt like a Corvette, just a few hundred pounds heavier.

Lost a lot of money but still don’t regret buying then selling. Now I know what I want next. Small SUV/Crossover.

I’m looking for utility not performance.

It’s not like I disliked the SS. And I’m still getting a GM probably.

I’m not as brand loyal as I once was....I’d probably get the Mazda crossover it it had at least 50 more hp.

definitely but I'm not really diggin' this new iteration. We had a '12 for a couple years and it was perfectly fine for what it was but probably the slowest vehicle I've ever driven

Yea, not sold on them yet. The only problem I see is the rare time I might want to use manual mode.

    .

Wasn’t the V6 I’m guessing? My sister has one and it was decent. A lot better than my ‘11 Cruze.

With as many different models of Crossovers that are out there, its very surprising that the wretched looking Terrain tops your list.

Let’s hear your opinion man. I feel Terrain owns besides handling/feel and front end styling. Maybe visibly and cost. I’m open to discussion. Any input is appreciated!

You should easily be able to get a 2018 Durango GT for that money or a lower trim Grand Cherokee.

Bossman, serious question. For the same money as that mommy mobile you have selected, you could buy a Chevy SS (they're heavily discounted now), or a Dodge scat pack (also heavily discounted). Why mess with a mommy mobile instead?

Durango is a bit too large. I don’t want a big car.

If I could have a bunch of cars I would, but I only want one car, and as I said, I need some utility.

I don’t know about the Terrain. I’ll be holding back for a while and keep researching.

What utility is it that you need? Little crossovers pretty much suck at utility. If you want actual utility, you get a pickup, or an actual full size suv.

Although living in SF, I'd expect you need something smaller than those. Chevy Colorado?

Yea, a crossover doesn’t have a ton of space but it would be just enough for my needs.

I’d consider a Colarado. Full size trucks are way too big for me.

Budget is 50k max. And I want decent gas mileage as I have a bit of a work commute.

Well, I’m starting over fresh. I can’t handle the Terrain front end, its not growing on me at all.

I could get by without the space of an SUV (yea small suv) if I get a buddy to help me once in a while.

Thank you LS2 for the guidance, for now.

How is the Ford Escape? I’d be all over it if it had the 9-speed.
