Hmm......I might have a dangerous lunch tomorrow and go test drive that gray charger. Hmm I just got the check for my totalled commuter also. Oh the possibilities.

These cars actually get pretty damn good MPG. Not sure what my coworker is getting around town, probably not that great because he drives like a bat out of hell but we've routinely gotten 28mpg on the highway on work trips and he got about 25 average on his trip to colorado a couple months ago.

I just worked everything out on paper and not including the additional operating cost, my additional out of pocket monthly payment would be about $78

    Why am I doubting this?

You need to resist until you've closed on the new house. Seriously.

Kind of.... this has 4 piston instead of 6 piston Brembos, the suspension isn't adjustable (but I think it's still Bilstein), wheels are .5" more narrow and everything else as far as the leather/alcantara can all be had in the Scat. The steering wheel is also slightly less thick.

I had the same very question as well. If you can get the SRT driveline in a Road/Track (which isn't just an R/T), for THOUSANDS less, why wouldn't you?

My friend has a previous gen SRT Charger and I frigging love it. As does he. He doesn't daily it, but he just loves it. This fucker said "if you don't buy one of them, I'm driving down and trading mine in for one"

However, they have 3 of the BASE Scats. No tech, cloth seats, no Beats audio.... which I'm totally fine with. I was kinda tired of leather and wheni bought the Honda, the cloth was a nice change, which I still really enjoy.... I'll just enjoy the Scat way more.

    Hopefully it can happen

AND KBB excellent trade-in for a 17 Scat is $31-34k so it looks like the hit is already baked into the selling price.

If I was in the market for a vehicle, I would close on one of the 3 they have available by tomorrow. And I'm not even a sedan person.

Not entirely correct. Options get you Alcantara heated / cooled seats.

The scat has the last Gen srt brakes, a suspension upgrade over the RT but not adjustable, and a few wheel choices but yeah all are skinnier.

Talked to the salesman earlier. Apparently, he didn't know the manager called me. the manager left me a message saying that the car is already heavily discounted and the selling price is the selling price. If I was interested, call them back and make an appointment to see the car. Also- the incentives are only good until the end of the month and that the selling price will be back to the sticker price.

Sooo- I called the salesman back and kicked that to him and let him know. I told him they need to find $1000-$1500 somewhere (either in the Charger or in my trade) and I'd put a deposit on it, take a day off from work and pick it up. He said that they'd need to see my car before they could give me any idea of a trade in value, which I understand. But I also explained to him that the car is literally as-new. 5500 miles. He said that he would need to see it and make sure it doesn't have scratches, dings and dents. (So they're backing off the initial offer already) I said that if it had dings or dents, how the fuck could I hide that from them when I brought it down? so, I sent him a few pictures. He said that pictures are good, and the car does in fact look excellent- but he has to see it.

I replied with "if the price is going back up at the end of the month, and these aren't selling at $10k discounts, I guess you're not in a target area for this particular car and they'll sit forever at $42k". He said their dealership is located in the most wealthy county within Virginia so he's not concerned about that.

I'll give them a few days and just wait them out. But if they get to where I want them to be, I'll grab one.

So you're going to let this deal go over 1000$ when it's already 10 grand off sticker?

it's by far the best deal in the country and you're trying to beat them up over another $1000? I would have told you to pound sand.

This is probably the 1% of cases where I wouldn't even negotiate the price down because it's such a deal. That's right at 25% off MSRP.

Good for you, Detective! I have had buyer's remorse about having to buy something right this instant to the point of not being able to walk away from a bad deal. Yeah, the ScatPack isn't a bad deal. But I'm glad to see that you have the wherewithal to walk away if you don't get exactly what you want.

I'll admit it's a great price. But, I set a limit as to what I would spend. Taking everything else into consideration that comes along with owning that car- it's just not where I want to be. CAN I buy it? Sure. Do I WANT it? Hell yes.

    I just bought my house

I have 2 daughters that I pay child support for as well as have almost half the time and I'm divorced

I have to consider their financial/educational future

My Accord is brand new. Cost of ownership is negligent. A Scat would increase that cost significantly overall

If they can offer the deal I'm comfortable with, I'll do it

He said their dealership is located in the most wealthy county within Virginia so he's not concerned about that.

I'll give them a few days and just wait them out. But if they get to where I want them to be, I'll grab one.
Well your both right. It is one of the richest county's but it's also not the fucking target market for a scat pack. Otherwise people would be throwing cash at them. That said gotta love trying to Jew someone down who is already cheaper than someone else.

    I just bought my house

I have 2 daughters that I pay child support for as well as have almost half the time and I'm divorced

I have to consider their financial/educational future

My Accord is brand new. Cost of ownership is negligent. A Scat would increase that cost significantly overall

If they can offer the deal I'm comfortable with, I'll do it
That all makes sense but you're talking about $1,000 on a $31,999 purchase of a vehicle that has an MSRP of $41,999. On a 5 year note, that's $200 plus interest more in payments a year. $17 and some change more a month in payments. I have a feeling if they agreed and dropped the price to $30,999, you would have found another reason to not purchase the vehicle. There's nothing wrong with admitting you weren't seriously looking to purchase it.

honestly its a bit of dreaming .... I just spent 70k on a house downpayment and about 15k over my remodel budget so spending 50-55k, and I only owe $1500 on my current car.

Smart move for the next year or two is no new car and recoup all the cash I spent.

But I gotta say that is an amazing deal nothing would be better.

So this is only at the Farrish dealership? I can't find any price even remotely close using other dealers. So what's the deal?

I mean at that price you could drive it for a year & trade it in AND possibly make money.
