View Full Version : Relocation brackets
I am curious how LCA relocation brackets are installed and what geometrical advantage they bring. I know it's supposed to stop wheel hop when lowering but that's about it. Thanks.

I have BMR Boxed LCA and BMR relocation brackets.
They do work!
When I lowered my car only had the LCAs and had loads of wheel hope still.
Once I put the relocation brackets on the wheel hop was gone, even in rain.
The more level to the ground they are allows the energy of the wheels to push the frame forward instead of downward. If they face downward (wheel side higher, frame side lower) the wheels can't plant properly and may cause wheel hop.
Think of it in terms of an airplane wing.
When the wing is level the plane flies level.
If you had a plane with no rear wing and the main wing was facing down at an angle the plane would loop upside down causing the rear of the plane to go up while the front goes down.
Same concept without aerodynamics envolved.
My LCA are at a bit of a negative angle (frame side is a bit higher than the wheel side) which pushes forward and up, planting the hell out of the wheels.
I think that is how they work. Please corect me if I am wrong.

Welded or bolt-on.

Attach to the axle side, those red lines are your LCAs :D

LCAs should be parallel or slightly lower in the rear at the axle. When you lower the car, you lower the connection on the chassis but the axle connection stays at the same height. This will put the LCAs at an incorrect position. By installing LCA relocation brackets, you lower the rear of the LCAs to be parallel or slightly lower in the rear.
When I had my LCA Relo brackets, I had the LCAs in the lowest hole available at the axle.
