The second Borla clip on the list sound like mine, the first one not at all. Which says a lot about the accuracy of recordings. Try listen to a real one if you have the change.

I would personally recommend an entry in the LT1 FAQ that is being constructed.

vettes are going to be a little bit louder and better sounding because they are a dual exhaust

i have a cat back on my vette. i don't know what brand but it is f'ing loud. i don't think you will need cut outs man. f body guys only use them cause of the single pipe.

well that's not the only reason we use them, more you do to your engine, the better dual c/o's serve you performance wise, especially on the track, needless to say they are risky on the street :D with the pro-stock / nascar sound

and plus the cut-outs are maybe 1/10 the price of a catback. i like the square tips on the corvettes anyways. can you hear any bit of a lope at idle with a cat-back or the cut-outs? or is it real quiet like the ls1?

depending on what you've done to your engine yes you can hear lope @ idle etc. I have a Borla catback too, and dual cutouts on or off (doesn't matter) lope is very obvious. I've heard plenty of LS1s with similar setups that were not quiet either capped or uncapped, all in the engine and exhaust design.

i understand the use of cut-outs. the preformance part was what i was trying to convey. guess i should have worded it differently or put inmore info. my bad.

Wow, no mufflers? I didn't see any, at least. No cats either? The video doesn't do the true sound (read: loudness) any justice, I'm sure.

Yes sir...no cats, 2.5" piping, over the rear into two mufflers, they're Bullet 21":
