I just got my September issue of Motortrend in the mail and they have a small article on pg. 28 saying that it is rumored at 700-725hp    I've been reading on the forums about the c6 z06 with rumors of 500hp but damn this is just too wicked   and so is the price targeted quoted as well being $100,000 plus

Hello Everyone,

Great to be on this great site! I read that article too in the recent MT Mag. Wonder if the Blue Devil will go into production. That will be a very very nice car.:)

It is rumored that GM is going to build a 427c.i. "super vette." I hate to be a naysayer but I seriously doubt that it would have 700hp. Also, I don't think that the z06 is going to break the 500hp mark, I believe it will fall slightly short at 480hp-490hp. IF (and that's a big if) GM decides to release a 427ci super vette for production it will most likely have around 600hp. I can't fathom GM giving it any more.

Well the rumor was the blue devil prototype has been running 700-725 HP for quite a while now.

Also no guarantee on production at all.

Too bad GM has confirmed the LS7 as having a 6.4L

http://www.ls2.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=89542&highlight=6.4l

What exactly can I take to the bank?

I hate when people try to spread rumors on the internet with no basis in fact. It's already been confirmed a 6.4L and you are sitting here telling me to take "7.0L 427ci" to the bank? Yeah okay guy, you just keep on dreaming. You obviously don't know jack about the LS7.

If you REALLY believe that the LS7 is going to be a 7.0L 427ci then put your money where your mouth is. I will bet you $1,000 that it's going to be a 6.4L.

I allready know Jack and it will be a 427 7.0 liter 500 hp engine.

As far as rumors you are telling one,why dont you use you PC and check the Vette forums or better yet talk to the people that are working on the 2006 ZO6 like I have. Then maybe you might know something instead of using your opinions to base your facts on.

I will be at the NAAS in January to see the new ZO6 before people as yourself will see it.You see I am going with press and the car magazines on the day before it opens. So I will post it here that night so you can read it. Okay

You dont have a $1000 to lose

STRAIGHT FROM THE CORVETTE FORUM:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/archive/index.php/t-733586.html

The LS7 RPO list showed 6.4lts. Maybe it's just a matter of rounding up or down, but 6.4/6.3 seems to be the magic number.

Well I'm past speculation since the RPO LS7 is assigned to a 6.4L, however I'm not ruling out a 7.0 derivative under another RPO hint hint..

Some info for all you guys, i work at a supplier fot automotive catalysts and we have access to forcasting database information, this information comes from CSM Autobase an information company that my employer subscribies to for future vehicle information. according to them the engine is going to be a 6.4L (6400cc) compared to the base C6 at 6.0L (5967cc) it will be 2 valves per cylinder, put out 500Hp and 500 lb-ft of torque.

It IS a 6.4 L according to sources at GM that I have talked to. They were the same people that said the C6 would be a 6.0 400/400 a year ago when I last spoke to them.

I have heard from sources at GM that it's a 6.4L, but I have not heard anything about 3 valves.

DID YOU READ THE PART WHERE IT SAYS THE LS7 RPO IS ASSIGNED TO 6.4L ?????

:Owned: :ahole:

Please don't try to act like you know anything...

Atleast we should be happy that its getting 500HP!:D

If the fully loaded C6 ZO6 has a MSRP approx $60K to $63K might order a '07 model.:) I would really like to see its pricing in the black and white first.

Chief you are in for a treat with your new ZO6. You are very lucky.:D Yeah let us know more info once you get.

BTW little bit off topic, anychance if the upcoming Zeta based GTO/Monaro will get the C6 ZO6 LS7 Motor? Maybe in a Judge model? If the C6 ZO6 will be starting off at $60K Plus then could a GTO with the same more go for $45K Plus? I know to early to tell, but I want to pay off the house and have a new toy too.;)

True I understand.:) Think this time I want to go for something lighter and better handling than the WS.6, and don't care about the back seats. Guess I will have to wait for more info on the C6 ZO6.:drive:

And please keep us posted.

I hate to break it to you, but while that article mentioned the LS7 several times, it never once said anything about its displacement, nor about any engine having 6.4L.
