motor doesn't care what tranny is behind it. other than what flexplate/flywheel to use. but, to answer your question: about $3700 and yes.

no. the ZZ4 is a crate motor.

Nothing wrong with the EFI on a C4 from 86-91. The stock intake manifold will bolt right up. But, you'll want to put some time into choosing the cam, and if you want some rpm out of it, you should probably avoid the stock intake.

You should contact Dick Guldstrand at http://www.guldstrand.com for info on that. He currently has a C4 in his shop (with the clunky 4+3 manual tranny) in it with a ZZ4 block and the full on TPI setup. Apparently the owner of the car is the points leader in her AutoX class for her races with that car......FWIW.

The TPI set up has a very long runner that makes good torque but dose not like to rev over 5200-5400. cam selection is very important :p
