Does the part that comes out the back, the part where the 2 vacuum hoses and MAP sensor hook up, come straight out, perfectly level horizontal, or project out at an angle downward somewhat? I bought locally a LS6 intake for $290, part number ends in 12561184 (01-02 F Car), flat bottom, w/ what looks to be the LPE EGR adaptor (what I was looking for). The rear has been resealed, and wanted to make sure it was done right. I am not sure if it was broken at some point, or if it sealed to be on the safe side. It doesn't leak when tested w/ water though. What do you all think? I can get my money back, but a SLP is 465 plus shipping, and just the LPE Adaptor for a LS6 intake is 150. I don't want to run around w/ a SES light, nor want to buy Edit/Tuner right now, so the EGR LS6 is my options. Thanks for any feedback!

Also, does this look like the LPE piece installed? A sort of boot goes around the EGR metal plate and it slides down into the intake.

vaccuum doesn't have a problem turning corners so if the rear fitting is leak-free, and everything physically fits back there, you're good.

Not sure on your EGR query.

User title makes good sense right now, eh? :p

Thanks guys! Sorry for the size of the pics. I did have them bigger, and resized--honestly:D

It looks fine to me. The only thing I would be worried about is the quality of the sealing. Are you sure thats even an LS6 intake? Is the bottom flat?

I show the 01-02 LS6 intake as #12561182 at least that is what is on my 01.

Yes, the bottom is flat.

I ran a search over at Tech, and found this quote by DALEMX:

The Stock 2001-2002 F-body LS6 is 12561184.

The Z06 LS6 is 12573572.

These are the numbers stamped on the manifold

I believe that the F-body manifold is prefered and flows a little better than the Z06.

The old LS1 intake with the EGR setup is 12560688.

I filled the thing w/ water, and have used air also, to attempt to find leaks, and it seems to be air/water tight. Any other ideas on how to check? Will any of this hurt performance you think? When I look inside w/ a flashlight, it looks perfect, no adhesive or anything that I can see.

There are some good pics and info on part numbers here. I'm going to archive this in the Help section.
