Most of you have seen these before, but theyre not neons, they are Cold Cathode Lights, CCLs which are smaller and brighter than neons...but more fragile.

pcmods.com ... about $20 shipped or so?...

comes w/ the inverter and 2 tubes.. powered off +12v/-12v ... i wired mine to the power and ground from my radio's wiring harness... that way if i forget to turn them off, it goes off when the car is off and door is opened... its VERY easy.. includes a switch in order to turn off and on already wired in (i extended the wires)

Thanks lucky, I think it looks :thumbup: Wasn't too sure if I found it to be "ricey" or not. But I think it looks cool and you did say you can turn it off by a switch mounted in your ash tray.

There is no walkthrough for the CCL install, because as lucky_topher said, its literally hook up the power wire to a power source, ground the negative site, and then velcro the lights under the dash, and thats it. Most CCLs come with a manual switch if you want it, but if not, then you could buy any rocker switch from Radio shack and hook it up.

The LED rings came with the new fog lights i got at pep boys. Navigator cyber white lights with 7 color led ring. The fog lights are alot brighter than stock also, but i keep the LED ring on blue or green most of the time.

Shouldn't be any problem to splice them in to the factory wires controlling the interior lights using Scotchlok connectors - I just don't know how the CC's would react to the Theater Dimming used in our cars?

If anyone is thinking of ordering the Cold Cathodes from PCMods as I did - just a heads-up:

I ordered/paid for a set on 2/25 - still never received them. Upon calling, they told me that they are having trouble with their supplier and all the shipments have been delayed - stated it should only be another week - but if it goes beyond that I'm cancelling the order & getting them from someone else.

as a previous note.. i ordered three times from them previously and all three shipments were good.. this was at least 3-4 months ago so i can't vouch for them now and i just hope this is a minor speedbump :D

for anyone wondering about the whole PC mods thing, I ordered CCL's from them on friday and had them tuesday, so it seem they are shipping just fine.

installed the CCL's tonight, install was easy as shit, but one of the tubes was broken when i took it out of the package :mad:
anyway, finished the install and did something kind of trick with the switch, but I'm going to make ya'll wait to see it until its all fully functioning :p

Well I'm no electrical genius but...

I'm testing out the lights before install using the supplied harness (which is for a computer). Yellow is positive - runs from large 4-pin connector to one side of switch with Red coming off the other side and to the small 2-pin connector that goes to the inverter.

Black comes straight from the large 4-pin to the small 2-pin.

When I apply 12V to the Yellow & Black terminals of the large 4-pin connector I get absolutely nothing :confused: No matter which way switch is positioned

What the hey am I doing wrong or are these no good from the get go?
