Dont they have a vette that is similar to the Z06 in the earlier years of the c5? What are the numbers? Also do any of the z06's have that removable hard top????
The FRC, or "Fixed Roof Coupe", was offered from 99-00 as a lower cost alternative to the Coupe. It had the same powerplant/drivetrain as the Coupe, but fewer options, and no removable targa-top. In otherwords, it was a basic hardtop Corvette. It wasn't terribly popular at the time.
Corvette salvaged the FRC platform by using it as the basis for it's new high performance model Corvette- the Z06. This made sense, since the hard top model is lighter and more ridgid than the Coupe. All Z06's are FRC's, and all FRC's from 01-present are Z06's.
Z06's do not have a removable top. :)

Thanks! How am I supposed to cruise at sunset. I have always had t tops and am thinking about a Z06. I guess I will have to sacrifice.:(
There are a couple shops out there that do Z06 covertible conversions, but it's big bucks.

for the cost of the conversion, you can do h/c on a vert or a s/c and beat the hell outa a stock z06. :D
