I am seriously considering a GTO with LS2 on in. Do you think a LS2 can dyno 380 rwhp stock? I heard low 360 rwhp and high 400 rwhp. 380 rwhp on a bone stock car isnt too shabby. A few mods will put it 450 rwhp and 11's.

They are going to be in the 350-360rwhp range in a M6 and 350-360rwtq too. They have almost the same HP as the Z06, but the TQ is higher so thats why im stating these numbers. Here is a graph from GM http://64.81.147.40//albums/album50/P4237723.jpg

360 rwhp sounds weak. Some LS1 dyno as high as 330 rwhp stock.

Mustang magazine got 326 rwhp without airfilter and stock SS. Thats not bad at all.

I'd like to hear of one too. It took my 98 TA intake, exhaust, pulley, and longtubes to break the 330 mark. That car put down 298 stock. Most 01+ LS1's dyno 300-310 stock.

360rwhp sounds about right for the LS2 vettes if the motor is underrated. My 02 Z06 put down 347rwhp bone stock, which put it very close to the rated HP when drivetrain power loss is accounted for. I would not be at all surprised to see LS2 vettes put down rwhp in the range that my 02 Z06 did...

It made 316.7 "STOCK". Stock means stock.

The Camaro SS nearly duplicated this effort when we strapped it to the dyno. It baselined at an impressive 316.7 hp and 340.9 lbs.-ft. of torque. Pulling the air filter out of what at first glance appears to be the world's most convoluted ram air setup netted us an extra 11.2 hp and 6.3 lbs.-ft. of torque.

327 rwhp without air filter but 316 with filter :sillyme:

Dyno #'s are very subjective... A reputable shop will have the SAE Corrected numbers for you (without tricking the machine).

330HP would mean the SS had somewhere around 380HP at the crank?!?!?! It also took me LT's, ORY, Magnaflow, and Lid to hit 329RWHP!

I'd say, using a general rule of thumb that there is somewhere around a 15% loss in power through the drivetrain, that the LS2 GTO will dyno around 340RWHP - remember... independant rear...

LG Motorsports dynoed their new C6 this weekend. 343 RWHP then added their long tube headers 372 RWHP with no tuning.

It always cracks me up that people set such high expectations for these things, only to set themselves up for disappointment. GM didn't underrate the C5, why would they underrate the C6?

My 02 Z06 dynoed 347rwhp stock (408.2bHP actual/405bHP advertised)), and most base models dyno 300-310rwhp stock (350-360bHP actual/350bHP advertised).

The F-body was intentionally underrated so as not to steal any of the Corvette's thunder.

People should not be disappointed- GM said "400" and they delivered! That's very close to Z06 performance in the base model Corvette, with awesome potential for modding!

I watched a bone stock C6 (Mallet test-bed car) being dynoed at Corvettes at Carlisle this past weekend. For all three pulls it averaged in the 340s rwhp. That works out to ~400 horses at the flywheel so the advertised number is accurate.

BTW, no bone stock LS1 motor on the planet dynoed 330+ rwhp that I'm aware of.
