GTO is 31-33k depending on bargining with dealer. However, it is a heavy car. I want GM to bring back cheap Camaro 20-25k with a LS2 in it. 3400 lbs muscle car. It was great when you could pick up a stripper LS1 z28 for 19k.
Sales didn't justify production.
The "cheap" Gen IV powered vehicles are bound to be half-ton pickups. I don't know what they're slated to get though.

Looks like the LS2 is bound for the SSR as well, the new GMHTP (PHR piggy back issue) has a little article about the LS2 going in the GTO and SSR. That news would stop me in my tracks if I was considering an 04 in either of those vehicles.

The LS2 will be in the 2005 SSR. It will be rated at 390 HP...gotta keep the vette owners ego intact....TQ will be 405 FT LBS..just took a class on it along with tne new corvette.

Also, along with the LS2, the SSR is going to get a 6 spd!!:D That vehicle is not for me, unfortunately, but let's see how the GTO progresses.:hmm:

I understand the stripper Z28 idea, but 31-35K for a car these days with leather, full power, nice sound system, and beefed drivetrain is pretty cheap. A half ton truck with most goodies is in the 31-35K range all the way up to 40K for a 2004 F-150 Lariat! That is a 1/2 ton!!! You can't buy much with power for under 30K anymore - unless you want a WRX or SRT-4 - the STI is over 30K. There is no such thing as cheap anymore...

The 05 GTO WILL have the LS2....this is fact. Look for 400HP.
