I am about to be doing a spring and shock install on my bone stock 1994 Trans Am. The car has 99K miles on it, and I am sure I could do some replacing of parts. Now the previous owner said he replaced the tie rods aroudn 80K, but how can you tell if tie rods are bad. Also, what about ball joints?
Is there anything else I need to do?

I am replacing the springs with Ground Control and the front shocks with Hals 12 way adjustables and the rear shocks with Bilstein HDs. Also installing LCA relocation brackets and a Double APHR (for the 17 X 11s).

Thanks

since your going coilover you don't need to disassemble the front -that makes it a bit easier

Well your sway bar endlinks are gonna be shot. Pick up some Energy Polyurethane at the local auto shop (I know autozone carries them).

Or do what I did and get a Suspenion Technics 35mm solid front sway bar that comes w/ new endlinks :D

Before you go installing, make sure you send me a PM or call me...I have some insight into this (as well as 02 WS6 TA) that could save you some major headaches.

Agreed, knowledge is the key here, and we have learned (the hard way  ) some tricks that will make the GC install much easier.

Tricks: stay away from the muffler clamps, even though they seem tempting at times. Other than that, hope your panhard rod goes back in. Does that just about cover it Travis?
