I am confused and hope someone can assist. The 09 G8 got the better flowing heads and the better intake I was told on the g8 board forums. This is important because I was thinking about ordering the new ported intake from Vector or the version from Fast.
Should I have the heads ported or are they the better flowing ones as well?

Better than what?
08&09 G8-GT both have LS3 intake manifolds.
There's no major difference between 08 and 09 G8-GT heads.
They all have L92 type head castings, same head castings as on LS3.....except the LS3 complete heads got better valve springs and hollow intake valves.
There were about 3 different casting numbers used on the various G8-GT heads, the physical differences were minor....different surface finishes and different casting methods used. There's not enough difference to actively seek out one casting number over another.
Head porting with your stock G8-GT is really not required until you fully exploit camshafts or other mods which demand high airflow. They flow really well in stock form.
