Hesitation at 2K RPM

Okay the car is a '94 Z with 145,000 and is completely stock. I bought this car on 2/20/04 and before that it was driven 3 times in the past year. Now for the problem. It happens about 40% of the time I'm driving it. When the tach reaches 2k the motor sputters, but once it gets above 2k it runs fine. It feels like it is misfiring, but it only happens at 2k rpms, nowhere else in the powerband. Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the EGR control solenoid opening up at incorrect times and causing the engine to surge and sputter at low speeds.

Although given the mileage the car may need new pugs and wires. The LT1 really goes through them. Worst case scenario is the Opti is starting to crap out.

Sounds like EGR to me too, I had the same problem and a new EGR valve cured it completely.
