View Full Version : Have you guys ever considered getting a spare bottle?

Reason i'm asking:
A guy from work had a V6 Camaro that was all tricked out as a show car. The guy had a Venom nitrous system in it that was never used. I dunno if the guy didn't go past mounting it or what, but that's another story.
Anyway, I have a chance to get a Venom bottle (full) for prolly around $100 (he's asking $140obo).
Two questions:
-Do you guys think an extra bottle would be worth spending money on.
-Do you think a used matching bottle is worth $100 (with like $35 worth of the spray in there)?

Mount BOTH... :umm:
I was thinking of having one as a spare, that way I could run the bottle lower and have a spare on hand.
Also, I heard it's possible to fill a bottle dayum close to full by freezing the one you wanna fill, and putting the one you wanna empty in a hot bathtub. Anyone ever tried this?
I never let my bottle go under 4-5lbs in it, and I have to fill it like once a month/40 days. I think id be pretty  to have a spare and only need to fill up your "bottles" like every 3-4 months. :dunno: Not sure if it's worth a C note, though.. :\

When the bottle is cold it creates a vacuum so when the valve is opened it sucks the nitrous right in. If you have evr filled a bottle you will notice that as the pressure builds up in the bottle it will start to get warm on the top of the bottle. The warmer it gets, the higher the pressure. A warm bottle will build more pressure faster than a cold bottle thus allowing less nitrous during the fill.

I have one but be careful of one thing, N2O bottles have an expiration date on them, sometimes people will try to sell bottles that are old or near expiration.

I own four lol. Two are gonna be mounted in the car.:D
always a nice thing to have, makes it easier to fill up.
you can sell it for a C note empty, with a decent exp date.

I have two, just makes it easier. I don't have to rush to fill the one bottle.

even if they are near experation, i do not see where it would be difficult to get them recertified. hell my dive tanks are the same way. they require a visual every couple years, and get restamped.

Well... I talked to the guy on the phone yesterday...
He listed the bottles for "$140 a peice OBO"... I talked to him for a while... Told him I didn't really want them, just would be interested if I could get a screaming deal, etc... He offered to "come down" to $250 for the Pair... :\
Now, I realize this is a decent price, but i'm pretty sure there isn't a huge demand out there for used nitrous bottles... I told the guy good luck with selling them, and to call me back if he ever got tired of them sitting in his garage...
We'll see... I was thinking $100 for one... :yup:
$250 for both? :haha:
I don't care either way, really...
