I am new here and sorry to be asking a bunch of questions, but that is what these forums are for right? I am new to the world of LS based engines so pardon my ignorance.

I recently acquired an LS2 for my sand car. I will have to switch the throttle body to a cable driven model and had a couple of questions.

I had planned on using a Delphi MEFI computer to run the engine, is there anything that would require changing internally or externally? I would assume that this is a viable option?

Can a stock lS2 computer be used to just run the engine in leiu of the MEFI? If so, any recommendations as to where to send the stock computer off once I acquire it?

Any year or computer number that would work best for this option?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Like I said, I am new to this world and not sure what will match up with what I have.

There are a few variants of the LS2 engine with the main issue for you being 24x or 58x ?

The 24x version was found in 2005 Corvettes and all Pontiac 2005 & 2006 GTO's (TBSS also). The GM E40 computer can run these without an electronic throttle body. The 24x LS2 can be recognised by its black crank sensor (in behind the starter).

Black Crank sensor = 24x

Uses

E 40...3 main connectors.

Can work with Cable Throttle Body.

Does not like working with a Cable Throttle body.
