My engine is pretty much stock but I'm running between 24º-26º on an 02 :) 20º is a bit low..... do you have any logging capability to see what is going on

I have an 02 and I get between 18 and 20* at wot... I asked around about this a while back on the old board and the concensus was that this was normal and accepted for late 01's and 02's.

I guess I was just jealous that shaner car was getting 26* timing but he has a 98 Z

01s and 02s do have lower timing adv then earlier versions but I just had a look at my "stock" high octane spark table and yes once you get to .72 gm/cyl - 1.0 gm/cyl from 4,800- 6,200rpm the table calls for 19º which is the high end for the MAF/RPM for a stock setup... but from @ .50 gm/cyl -.72 gm/cyl from 2,500-4,800rpm it calls for anywhere from 21-27º so yes .... you will see 20º..... but if you are running without KR you should also see 24-26º at some point in your WOT log perhaps down lower in the MAF/RPM band, I do :) ... even though 10secta has an upgraded valve train perhaps with the wet shot the lower timing adv may not be a bad idea ;) as a matter of fact your tuner may have planned it that way by design :)

get a scanner on there - if you are getting any KR the pcm is pulling some timing on you.

i probably should start updating this for all model years since some are slightly different. but you can at least use it as a guide.

At most KR would should up at .5 but mainly stayed 0. I do need to check and maybe replace my bank 1 side 1 o2 sensor. Hopefully next week I will she how it does at the track.

With that KR result in mind I would be tempted to up my timing advance in the high octane table .5 - 1.0 gm/cyl - 3000-6000 rpm range(approx WOT parameters) by 1-2º and see what happens. The trick is to get as much timing as possible without to much KR (some say none) keeping in mind your wet shot, you may not want to push it right to the edge :) ..... do a search around and you will see there are plenty of guys hitting 22-26º with their 01- 02s even though the stock timing tables are set lower then previous years :)

Who is you tuner. I think you are in DFW or close because shaner is. From what i understand the 01-02 have 5 dif tunes from the factory. I think you got the short end of the stick with your car.

With the Predator "performance" tune, I am seeing 29.6 degrees of timing with 1.6 degrees of knock (probably false know due to a banging y-pipe). Hopefully, I will see a little more with a custom tune.

You have no KR so I would do what I suggested in post #10 ... as well your LTFTs are in the + so you are adding extra fuel to your WOT A/F ... so there are 2 things.. bring your LTFTs down to 0 or slightly - and I would raise the timing by 2º at WOT and see what happens ... and after that if you still have no KR go for another 1º at a time until you start to pick up KR then back down 1º :)
