Epoxy primered it today. Body is now ready to come off the frame. When, I have no clue. Oh well, I'll have the motor together this week though.

Looks GREAT!
BTW, is that a 425/455? I noticed in the before picture it is painted red. This picture of the engine painted looks just like the 400 ci. Thats what I'm doing with my 425.

Quick suggestion......Switch the valve covers around. "D" hole for the factory breather is on the passenger side for '65(at least on mine it is). Drivers side should not have any opening, unless California emissions.

My block is in the shop right now getting getting measured and machined. I really enjoy watching your progress on the '65.
Please keep it coming!
Steven

Thanks man. As for the red paint, some dip shit wanted it to match the car and painted it that way. Its a B block 400, 30 over with stock replacement internals.

I dont have the valve train on it yet, the valve covers are just sitting on there. Thats why they are backwards. I am supposed to get my water pump Friday, after I put it on Ill post a new pic. I have the carb, pulleys, and fan ready to put on.

Wheres the pics of yours?

Thats an F85 car. REALLY cheap car with the best motor they had in it. Theres more than 13 left though. I saw 2 at lansing this year. And its a travesty the 3X2 400 isnt in it, even if he has it. That ram air air cleaner is too awesome to leave off.

I just got a digital camera! Now let me figure out how to use it correctly!

I saw in you picture the "A" heads and "B" block, thats a correct 400!! Wish I could get my hands on one!

I'm still looking for a push-on oil filler cap,the one with "AC" and the two dimples on it.
Just painted my valve covers and oil pan Sunday. Looks pretty good.
I will get some pictures to you by the week-end(if the 2 hurricanes don't mess with N.C. too much).

I had one but it had some dents in it. Those were 64/65 pieces only. Theres a guy in Lansing MI that parts out Oldsmobiles. Dudes garage is unbelivable. I bought a rare 64-67 4 speed flywheel from him and some 65 pulleys. I bet he has that oil cap. Heres his e-mail.

He gets motors and cars in every week. Its easier to call him, he answers every time.
