I tried out my Mr Clean Autodry, and it is beyond pimp.. EVERYONE needs one of these things. I had heard rumors that it stripped wax, which are way false.
Next up, I tried the new product from Meguiar's. Meguiar's NXT wax. It was some synthetic wax that a ton of zaino leghumpers were switching to. I now see why.
The paint on my car is pretty crappy to begin with.. It has a good amount of scratches & chips. Well, it looks straight bad ass now. Deepest mirror shine I've EVER seen. It's like zaino without all the BS.
Mr Clean Autodry $19.95 @ Walmart
Meguiar's NXT $14.95 @ Advance Auto Parts

In the 4th pic, you can see some the scratches I'm talking about. It didn't REMOVE any.. but it did hide a good amount of them. For the price, this shit is amazing.

how long did you have to wait for the MrClean stuff to dry before you began waxing?

30 minutes tops. I just cleaned out the inside of the car, and when I was done the car was dry.

First off, let me tell you that your car looks really good. I did want to add some stuff in just so that a newbie to the car care world doesn't come reading this and think "Holy crap, there is a short cut to all of this."
There is the saying "there is no replacement for displacement," and I'd like to add another: "there is no replacement for good surface prep." Sure, not as catchy, but it should be ingrained in your head so you never forget. There are no short cuts to taking care of your paint...as you get some time under your belt, you can do it faster, but I wouldn't recommend skipping any steps in the process.
Your best bet when using any product is to strip everything else off the paint until you get down to the clear coat. You can do this with a clay bar very easily, and Dawn does a fairly good job (but I wouldn't substitute it for using a Clay bar). If you have scratches that you want removed, and you can't feel them with your fingernail, they can most likely be compounded out. I use Menzerna Intensive Polish, but you can use a lot of different products (like the stuff from 3M). I also use a Porter Cable 7424 with the correct foam pads for my application, which helps a million times over what you could do by hand.
Before I apply anything, I also polish the surface using Menzerna Final Polish (again, you can use other stuff, but this works for me). You would be very surprised at what this step alone will do for your paint. Applied by a dual action polisher (read - Porter Cable 7424), it will abrade away the very top of the clear coat, getting rid of the dullness by helping to level the surface.
The other "crap" you mention is actually pretty important, and will help you to keep from adding more scratches to what you already have. Don't take it the wrong way or anything...it is your car, and you do with it as you please. Meguiar's NXT is supposed to be good stuff, and I'll try some in the near future to see how I like it. I just don't want someone coming in here thinking you can get away with using the two products you listed and not having any problems (like scratching the clear coat, etc.).
Again, nice car.

after my car gets back from the doctor i'm going full out on a cleaning mission. I have just about everything and was waiting on some comments on the mrClean stuff.
I'm gonna wash with dawn, clay bar, dawn again, buff with 7" vector buffer using mequiar's professional machine glaze, then apply a couple of coats of the NXT

I just waxed my car with the NXT stuff, and I have to say its the best wax I've ever used on my car before(never tried Zaino). My car hasn't looked this good since I got it painted, and to top it off it smells pretty good:D . I haven't tried multiple coats yet, but might try it soon. I give it two thumbs up:cool:
