Here is my new hood, let me know what you think. It will look better once it is painted. It is one of the few true ram air hoods out there if I am not mistaken.

Make sure you show us pixs of it painted. Question, did you order this hood as part of the GP they had running in early Feb? I cant believe you would have gotten it that fast. I got in on the GP a few days before it closed, so I probably still have a ways to go to get the hood, but I should have it soon! I cant wait! :D

Actually I am designing their their new website and am doing it in exchange for parts!

I like it. Ground effects really balance the hood out and make it look like it belongs.

I am iffy on it right now, but I have a feeling it will grow on me.

Some Camaros I like that hood on, others I don't. I think it looks good on yours. ;)

I always liked that hood on the WS6s, it just looks so aggressive with the two nostrils. Now people can tell you it looks like you have a gorilla-nosed catfish car. :D

I'm kinda on the fence about it. I like it, but I'm not sure how well it fits with the lines of a camaro.

Ive seen pics of a black camaro with the same hood and (IMO) it looked like :turd:.

I am also on the fence on this one. Nothing beats the SS hood on a Camaro.

It just looks like it doesnt match the car

RedPhoenix1998

it just looks out of place IMO, but yes a GFX kit like the Xenon body kit will give it a really aggressive look

Definatly lookes ricerish on my car unpainted but in a few days when I paint it I will take more pictures. It doesnt look at good in the picture for some reason, seems to match the flow of the car much more in person, I dont know why. I think racing stripes would balance it out but I am not sure. What do you guys think,

To stripe, or not to stripe
That is the question...

I almost got the SS Hood but since its non functional ram air I couldnt force myself to buy one.

Thanks for the opinions though,

-Brent

even if it was functional, it wouldn't make a noticeable hp difference..... and SS Hoods look badass! I just put one on my medium blue metallic z28 yesterday

Agreed, think the Ultra-Z hood would look better, this one doesn't flow with the car streamline, maybe paint will help. Someone in North Houston did a hood like this on his Camaro and it just looks like it does not belong there for some reason.

whoa... please don't stripe!
That would push it WAY over the edge into the "too much" category. It already stands out. Striping it would be like attaching a tacky neon sign to it.

Need better pics after its painted to get a better feel. Im shopping for a hood now too. The VFN hood is nice but maybe about an inch too high for my taste.

I think your hood looks good. Kinda the best of both worlds... got the scoops... plus the wide raised area like a cowl sorta.

I like it!

Please get some better pics after paint... Oh, and how do i get a hold of Roger over there?

Thanks,,
Glenn

Refine the poll, do Camaro people like, or dislike?

Do Firebird people like or dislike?

I think most Pontiac owners will say no, dislike, ...

:sorry:

I'm a Pontiac person, I dislike this style on the Camaro, ..., Just looks out of place IMO, ..., But, to each their own, ...

:D

What would people think of the SS style hood on a Firebird?!?!?

I think this one looks good but doubt my car would have the same effect

Sorry man, but I think that looks horrible. A WS6 hood should stay on the Firebirds

I've thought about that before, and it would look horrible. Same principle - keep your parts on your car and don't cross-breed the F-Body.

Does anyone remember that special 2003 422 Trans Am that GM built? The blue and white one? I loved that hood, I SO wish someone would make a shaker hood like that for the 4th gens.

I tend to agree though, the Camaro has always been more subtle and elegant whereas the Trans Am was always the boisterous, exagerated car, and having huge nostrils on a Camaro just doesnt do it for me. But to each his own...

I agree, I would not put that on my car, It just destroys the beautiful lines of the camaro. TEHO though.

I like it a lot better than I thought I would. However, I don't know about striping it. The pics in the link above don't look bad at all. But stripes can be too much really quick. Either way, the hood looks really good.

With that nose, it just doesn't look right...I would have gone with the one that has the one large scoop in the same area.

As long as you like it though, that's all that matters. You are the one driving it after all...

Nope, don't like it. That hood is really meant for the birds, not the Camaro. I just don't think it looks right on that car. Each car has their individual "personality". When you start mixing those up, the car looks confused. Just my .02.

Get it painted then have everyone decided. I'm undecided too. But then again I have the Ultra Z hood. I think that hood would be alot better if it was "functional."

There you go! A painted one! Haha, I still havent gotten mine painted. I will probably do it tomorrow. Yourse is still a little larger than mine I think but it gives you a better idea of what it will look like I guess.

What brand of hood is that? I dont know of anyone else who makes them like that.

Fiberglass Fabricators made it. It is functional also, but I don't use it.
