Anyone have an idea on if this would be possible on the latest F-bodys? Or will size/fit problems get in the way?

It shouldn't be physically much larger than the Gen III height or width-wise. The main difference would be in the front of the engine, so fitment of the driven accessories may be a challenge.

I am not soo shure. The F bodys have alot of room i wouldnt think there would be no problem. And how much bigger can it be already

Hell with the noses on these cars we could fit a damn Straight 8... :p Give it some time.. A LS2 will show up shortly in F-bod.

Okay, I called the Chevy dealership and I won't be able to get my hands on an LS2 until late November. By then I will have about $20k to play with so I was thinking of dropping a supercharged LS2 into an 98-02 T/A. I'm not really concerned with fitment (if they can shoehorn an LS1 into a Miata then SURELY they should be able to work an LS2 into an F-body). I was concerned however, since they wont have a supercharger kit available for a while, am I going to have to buy an LS1 kit and custom fabricate it to fit/work? Would kind of supercharger am I going to need? How much do used LS1 engines (50k + miles) go for these days?

Why would the engine be larger ? and not fit ?
External dimensions are the same. You should be able to retro fit all the F-body hardware on the LS2.

im curious, what about the wiring harness? Will tha wiring harness fit into our computers? Or will we have to have the vette computer? and then will OUR plugs fit into the vette computer?

It seems that the cam runs at a slightly higher pulse count than the LS1 but the computer in a LS2 is backward compatable. The question is if the LS1 can hand the pulse count or just change out the cam sensor. Then they are interchangable with some splicing of the knock sensor and cam cables.

The next question is if the LS7 can be placed in the LS1 body without major modifications and work with the LS1 computer. Likely yes and may run well with the later LS1 computers which have a higher chip speed.

i have been in contact with a company that sells a 402 stroked ls2 along with the conversion kit needed.as far as wiring the only thing you have to do is extend the cam sensor wire and mess around with the knock sensors.other than that its a bolt in.

There are now a few companies offering 402ci LS2 stroker packages.

When I saw the package that SDPC (a sponsor of LS2.com by the way) had for therie 402 LS2, I knew I had to get one, and put THAT into my Formula instead of the built LS1 I had planned on.

Can't wait to get in on the road, now. :)

Check out this thread http://www.ls2.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=207266 . Ed Wright is already tuning blown LS2's.
