I'm about to cry here guys! Yes I finally made the move over here cause I missed ya'll but, I'm happy about that, but what sucks is the fact that my rocker panel is so screwed up from that stupid speed bump! I got a new one from the local yard, in the middle of painting it, but just seeing my car all banged up like that hurts! The whole rocker is cracked, my y-pipe was bent to hell, and well, I just realized that that stupid car killing speed bump took a big chunk of paint off my front clip! I'm taking her to my shop tomorrow to evaluate the whole underside again cause I think I'm missing something, ever since that bump, it just doesn't feel right. I think it threw something in my suspension but I won't know till tomorrow. :dammit:

Sorry to here about your damage. I guess one of the few bright sides of living in frigid Ohio is the snow plows usally win the war with the speed bumps. Good luck dude hope it's nothing major.

trust me, this was a foot tall speed bump. I went over it slow and sideways, but when my front tires made it over, I literally teeter tottered on my undercarriage. The sound of cracking plastic and bending metal, not too pleasant at all.

BTW, I checked the damage today and the yokes on my drive shaft are bent, the tranny mount is busted, and lots of scrapeage!

Hey can I buy or borrow a snowplow so I can own that friggin speed bump! I remember checking the height of the speed bump next to my car, the top of it, came to about an inch higher than the bottom of my rocker panel and if I were to take some measurements, it would be about a foot or a little taller. :(

Man, that sounds more like a curb than a speed bump.
You should drive around here sometime, all of PA is like one continuous speed bump. Whenever I get the urge to lower my car I always seem to hit a few potholes and bumps and get bounced back to reality. This winter has been especially hard on the roads.
I hope everything can be fixed with relative ease.

Post some pics of the damage if you can. I suggest talking to a lawyer or the insurance company about what your options are. They knowingly have an illegal speed bump there if it damages your car like that.
Speed bumps should be illegal.

Hey guys, I took some pics of the damage and my insurance company is going to reimburse me and cover it as a road hazard so it won't effect my rate. I couldn't get a pic of the underside, I had a guy from the insurance company inspect it when I got the Y replaced. I also let them know about the damage to my suspension and my car is shopped tomorrow to get it fixed. Should be a couple days. But they're going to go after the apartment complex for the speedbump which is cool, and I am planning to get a picture of it soon. I'm parking on the street when I go there, screw going into that lot! :p

Glad to hear you won't have to pay for it, and glad to hear about the rate.

Oh believe me, I am pissed about it cause it's another day my car is in the shop. So far I've had a total of 3 shop days. 1 for the Exhaust, 1 for the suspension, had to get some things tightened up, and monday the rocker panel will be done. BTW, here's the rocker panel pics. You can only see the scrapage. I'll post another pic with the rocker panel off so you can see the extent of it.

Places that put stuff that high should be sued:2guns:

I had some ideas about that, but the apartment complex is changing the bump and my insurance went after them for the damage. I bought a rocker panel and I'm doing it myself, so I'm getting some extra cash from that. They reimbursed me for my y pipe and I'm getting the money to fix my suspension

Well keep us updated, she will be back up and running real soon.
if your car is stock ride height, i would sue, changing the bump, is acknowledgement of guilt ;)
go for book value of your "RARE" 98 Ws6. as they are rare, only 649 red ones exist.
