How easy is it? Any leak problems from you turbo guys? Last thing I need is a leaky motor.

My tapped oil pan hasn't leaked at all. IMO, it helped my engine stay leak free for a while longer because i was able to replace that old oil pan gasket. My car is a 3.8 though, so i don't remember exactly how easy it is to drop the pan on an LS1 car. Once you get it out, however, putting in the tap is the easy part.

you really don't "remove" the ls1 pan easily to tap it, its done in place according to the vortech instructions.

You need to drop the K member, and support the motor to remove the pan.

i am going to have a second pan, and have an AN fitting tig welded to it, for my vortech drain line, but thats cause im super anal about things like that.

To drop the oil pan you need to remove the 3 bolts from the kmember and use something to pry it down from the car a little with the front of the motor jacked up. You also have to take out the two motor mount bolts so the front of the motor will swing free from the kmember, then the pan should come right out.
