After reading through the mileage thread I was wondering at what mile mark did your AUTO tranny crap out? I am almost at 130k and I do drive hard quite a bit.

I think regular fluid changes can help out a lot, and I see no reason why the 4L60E can't last 150k on an LT1 that isn't too heavily modified. The key is not to spin the motor too fast, supposedly if you keep your engine rpms below 6000, the 4L60E can last much longer.

Yeah I change my fluid 2 times every 3 years on average. I have accidently banged to rev limiter a few times so I just want it to last 3 more months till I get out of grad school and start my job. Then I can afford to have a stronger one with a stall!

But I'm not saying not to drive it hard, just don't spin the motor so high. I drive the hell out of my car, but since it's pretty much stock, there is no need for me to change the 5700rpm shift points. So therefore it should live a long life (I'm at 98,600 and it still shifts awesome)

MIne was fine, with basic bolt on's till about 115,000, started banging the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift...then did heads/cam and lots of othe crap, now its shot..wotn shift at anything above 90%throttle.

In the process of rebuilding...have 130k on mine now.

I've got 60,000 on mine.... but I'm putting a Torque Converter on in a few days. I hope the tranny cooler does what it is supposed to! We'll see how long it makes it now.

Guess it don't matter now--I traded it in for 39k auto 99 TA. I am a trader now! 5 years of good life I had with the LT1. Someone elses problem now:D

Mine was on its way out at 65k. At times it would chug in 4th. I was told it was caused by the gear on the outside of the planetary gear going bad. But since I broke the bell housing it was fixed before it went comletely.
