Kenny. What type of oil filter do you use? I changed my oil yesterday and the only filters available were the short ones which have the same part# as my Z28. Where do you get the larger filters?
BigKID
08-02-2004, 02:41 PM
Delco PF59 from Advanced or O'Rileys. ;)
ShiftinS6
08-03-2004, 12:57 PM
Kenny. What size injectors are you running with the nitrous?
BTW we are getting a few more posts in here. :)
BigKID
08-03-2004, 02:17 PM
I have been running the stock 24.5# injectors but they are bad maxed out. I have a set of 42# 8.1 Marine injectors going in with the h/c this weekend. :D
ShiftinS6
08-03-2004, 05:59 PM
Refresh my memory. Are you running a wet or dry shot? Or direct port? ;)
BigKID
08-03-2004, 08:56 PM
100 dry. That may go up soon if I cant get an 11 like it is. I will have plenty of injector now to do it as long as I dont max out my maf. Lets just hope my fuel pump can keep up. :D

How do you monitor the mixture to see if you're running lean? Is this something autotap can tell you or do you need a dyno?
BigKID
08-04-2004, 01:31 PM
I do my initial tune and occasionally check everything with autotap. After my initial tune, I borrow a friends Innovative Wideband and street tune it. However I am pondering the idea of getting a permenant wide band to put in the truck. There are a couple I am looking at but they are between 350-550 so I need to get caught up from all the other mods first.

Is there any way to adjust for some cylinders leaning out and others running rich? When I get my Z28 hopefully next year i'd like to run a dry shot but I have my concerns from all the reading i've done on it. If I had the time, money and know-how i'd consider a direct port since it distributes everything evenly. They are just too expensive and complicated for me.
ShiftinS6
08-05-2004, 02:57 AM
This is one way of getting more posts in this forum. :D
BigKID
08-05-2004, 03:52 PM
Direct port is the only way to somewhat guarante even cylinder distribution with n20. Even then you are still going to have slightly uneven cylinder pressures due to the air flow charistics of the intake manifold. As far as with a dry shot, since you have to spray infront of your meter, you have less of a chance of spraying past the first few cylinders since the n20 has more time to mix into the air charge.
Why dont we take this discuession public so it could draw some more posts. ;)

Sounds like a good idea. I'll ask opinions and see what everyone thinks. You can chime in again with the same stuff if you want. :D
