Need serious help

Ok, working on a 89 GTA. Replaced the short block in it, and now it has trouble starting. It will start the first time, and run for days, but as soon as you turn it off, it won't start back up unless you spray some carb cleaner or something thru the tb. Checked everything over and over, took it to the dealer, and they don't know either. Tried everything in the ignition system, checked the valve clearances, EVERYTHING. Anyone have any ideas as to what it could be?

'89 was the first year of 8 injectors & cold start enrichment tuning to eliminate the 9th injector. Are all the intake manifold parts '89-'92 parts? And is the PROM the correct one for '89?

Yes, all parts are correct. We used the original in take and PROM.
