is it really worth the extra $100+ to get the coated headers? sure they look pretty, but are the uncoated ones really that much worse? im in the market for headers, but just cant justify the much more expensive coated ones, but dont want to buy the uncoated if they're that bad. let me know!

Sure they are worth it...if you want to protect your engine from the heat. The heat shields probably won't fit when you put your after market headers on, depending on which ones you end up getting. If you don't want to shell out the extra $100 for the coated ones, at least get some heat resistant paint for them. Doesn't hurt to be careful.

Coated headers don't rust for the most part... I'd say the $100 is worth it since you're already shelling out upwards of $400 for headers and y-pipe...
