A couple of guys are helping me to understand what's about superchargers. If I buy one I'll go with a Vortech, but: which one?
I don't want to build a race machine, I just want a normal looking and feeling car with that special extra power.
Should I go with the 9# intercooled kit or with the 5# standard kit?
Who has the non intercooled? Are you still happy with this choice or you regret not having taken the intercooled kit?
I'd prefer to stay conservative just to don't mess up engine + transmission.
Someone made this suggestion: take the intercooled kit with a 5# pulley.

Thanks!

yeah i have a ATI, but you want tell intercooler, helps lower IAT temps and reduced the chance Detenation, which saves your motor under boost.

The 5# will be safe... i am running 5-6# and have a good tune that is the other key.

make sure you get a fuel pump if its not included in the kit and go get a good dyno tune, if everything is stock i would run 11.8-12 a/f ratio to be safe and about 18-19 degrees timing, maybe less be cause of the aftercooler that Vortech uses, its just not as effecient as the ATI intercoolers

if you want to go really in depth and get some more information go to ls1tech.com to their Forced Induction forum, alot of info and good tips there

Either kit would benefit from an intercooler. If you are interested in a slim line intercooler please click on the speed inc icon to the right of this screen and Griffin can custom build one so you dont have to cut everything up or take it out.

...already ordered a vortech kit...
...non intercooled...
...the intercooler can be installed separately, some people build their own.

Thank you for the answer!
