whats up guys...i was just wondering if any of you have done this or know someone who has. i thought it may be cheaper for me to sell my LT1 car and buy an old 3rd gen to fix up and hopefully install a nice LS1/LS2. im assuming it will fit, but im sure it wouldn't be too fun in the process. what are your thoughts on building a fun/reliable 3rd gen with an LS series motor and 6 speed? any helpful ideas are appreciated. thanks fellas! :p

There's a member on here who did an LS2 into 95 Z28 conversion.
He was going to document the whole process. I gave him a few pointers so I'll ask him if he'll share info with you.

You might also find some good info here:

It will fit with ease - just need a new crossmember for the engine and one if you put in a 6 speed trans.

I'm actually planning on swapping an LS2 into a 1991 or 1992 RS and taking it to the nth level. $50K project to do it right.

I just got a thread going on my 92 RS LS conversion. I used a Hawks LS k-member and a UMI torque arm with a tranny k-member with a loop built on to it. I put the motor and trans in by myself in under an hour so it fits easily. I cheated and went carbed but may end up efi eventually if I do a turbo motor. I WILL tell you it's not cheap though.
