Awesome, now that's a sleeper.

A mate of mine here yesterday went and had a look at a crate motor a guy was selling due to the mortgage crisis. The seller said it was a VZ LS2 still in the crate from Holden but it had a broken TB and intake manifold, he wanted 2.5k for it.

Mate rang me last night, turns out it was an L76. I told him the intake is going to be harder to come by and more expensive than getting a new LS2/FAST 92 intake ..... so he's going to try and get it for 2200. It's going in a VS drag car eventually. Bargain.

i reckon, even for 2500 its a bargain, they have some great potential!

i would say if he has to replace the intake to try and get a ls3 one, mainly for that bolt down map sensor, being a drag car...

and let him know that if he sees an ls2 t/b for a good price to grab it quick, hsv is selling off a bunch of ls3 engines (takeouts from the w427s), but they have no t/bs so when people are selling them they wont be on the market long.

He got it for $2300 cash.
Yeah agreed on the LS3 intake.
Pretty crazy set of circumstances with the W427 having to be fitted with the LS3 at Holden then having it ripped back out at HSV. I've seen the LS3 crates ex HSV advertised on Holmart.
6,136.00 AUD = 4,256.24 USD

haha, yeah true, they are always doing stupid things like that, i wonder if they were pulling the l98's out to put the old ls2s in?? haha

the guy who did my computer and harness (sideshow performance in sydney) mentioned that they are selling them now, and told me about the throttle body thing.
I never got a price off him, although, if you know anyone that is interested let me know and ill get a price and give you his details.

I think holmart wanted near $5000 for l76's when i got mine for $3800 so maybe sideshow will be cheaper....

cometic de-compd head gaskets

"We dropped this one to 9.6:1 comp."

WOW!! Very nice, I've been debating on a turbo and it seems as thou 70 to 76 is the size to go with. That's some killer power on that motor. Thanks Rod
