On a 2000 SS-

would this be a bad Idea? i have the pro kit on my car now, and its just too low in the rear. And on some bumps i get tire rub with my 285- 30 -18's, I have already done this and Im just wondering if its bad or not. considering the pro kit only lowers the fron 1 inch id assume it wouldnt hurt?

That wouldnt be a bad idea to just lower the front. Really depends what you want to do with it. I have 18" wheels in the back too and I dont really want to lower that, only the front. Wont hurt anything ;)

if the prokit rear is too low for you and you want something alil lower than stock height.... you could do this:

Remove the spacers that sit on top of your rear springs and put a section of heater hose on the top coil of the spring. When i had that setup on my car (before pro kit) i loved the way it looked in the rear:cool:

thats a good idea, you could probably loose 3/4-1 full inch that way.

Another option is to make some spacers to go under the rears. I did this to mine and it looks/works great. Maintained the factory stance but sits 1 1/5" lower all the way around.
