lol. I posted that pic over on ls1tech and it's spreading like wild fire. I guess it's not a big deal but I blotted out my dealership's name just in case. I got in trouble with GM in 2001 for spreading the word early about the 02 CE WS6 before they made the info public.

So is it legit then- not a photoshop as alleged?

Yes it's legit. It will be available on the GXP model only. The LS3 is the only engine you can get with the GXP and you can get either the 6 speed manual or 6 speed auto. The manual will only be available on the GXP.

I'd buy that in a heart beat.

GM may very well be mad about this since it hasn't been officially announced yet. I also thought that the M6 would be available w/ the 6.0, not be an LS3 only option.

Overall, looks like a decent car. But the interior seemed cheap and unimpressive.

That's what I thought as well but it still only shows the auto with the G8 GT for 09.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_rBqCFjnb8 the idiot said "3.6 liter" when describing the C63. also, why do these reviews CONSTANTLY have to powerslide their ways through corners in the mercedes but drive the m3 normally? It's just unfair IMO

Amazing or not, it's pretty much the modern standard in "upper scale" vehicles, particularly sedans. I think it would be an oversight to not have it in the top level of this car.
I've only had vehicles equipped with navigation in the last 20 months, but I probably won't own another daily driver without it. :o Life is much easier with it.

well seeing how they couldn't even get XM in for the first iteration, the fact that nav isn't offered now doesn't mean it wont be in the future

:werd: I don't have a car with Nav, but it's foolish not to have it as an option when Civics and "lesser" cars have it. I hate the argument that people now adays are lazy or too dependant on it, it's about offering your customers more options.
It won't be a deal breaker for me, but I'd probably get it if it wasn't too expensive.

yeah i wish nav was an option , i get a warm fuzzy feeling inside when i dont have to tick that $2000 dollar check box on the order form :) , when its not there i feel left out :P

My dad said they are gonna start building the 09 as early as the spring? If they are gonna built the 09s so soon they will kill the momentum for this car. Lots of potential buyers will simply wait another 6 months for the 09 versions whether they want the GXP or not.

Erm, perhaps because the C63 oversteers horribly and it's difficult to keep it in line?

I hope the GXP gets an interior improvement. I've heard that the G8's interior isn't all that great.

Well it was either no nav or don't release the vehicle, guess what results in less money? They do have provisions for nav and a screen for it already, just couldn't get it in on time. Same thing with XM radio and the 6 speed manual.

I will tell you guys why this car doesn't have NAV. The radio poistion in the G8 is too low for Federal requirements on NAV screens. It's all because this car is built in Australia and their requirements are different than ours.
In order for the G8 to be offered with NAV, they would have to redesign the entire center stack and that's not cost effective at this point.
The car does have an enhanced version of Onstar's Turn-By-Turn NAV though that has gotten very postive feedback. It's a much less expensive alternative with the only difference being that it's not DVD based and you don't have the NAV screen. Directions and info pop up on the DIC that is on the instrument panel.
This should be good news for the Camaro though as it's being designed for the states first and foremost and the radio position for NAV should meet fed. requiremtns beause of it.

Finally a reason that actually makes sense although not good news. The turn-by-turn doesn't sound too bad. It's not the same level as DVD-based with live traffic updates, but it's better than nothing.

I think this system may have the live updates as it's supposed to be the most advanced TBT available in gm vehicles.
