...to find out when we'd be getting the first load of G8s in. The first GT is set to hit the showroom mid-March... supposed to be a black/black and loaded to the gills. Price? $42-45k is what they told me, WITHOUT any dealer mark-up, as that's how this dealer has always worked. Seems kinda pricey, IMO... They gave me a hot off the press G8 brochure that's about the size of War and Peace... lol Funny thing is... looking at the novel, there really aren't THAT many differences between the GT and the regular G8... just some exhaust and motor differences, as well as only a few available upgrades.
They guys were really helpful and understanding when I said I was just after INFO and NOT ready to buy just yet. Apparently I'll be able to order one just the way I want if I so desire... :hmm: I'm rather excited to see the car in person and take one for a spin.
Just thought I'd share with you all! :)

That's got to be a mistake. The announced starting price for the GT is under $30k. There's no way there are over $12k in options on these cars.

nope
base GT: $29,310.00
delivery: $685.00
Premium Package: $1,250.00
Sport Package: $600.00
Sunroof: $900.00
18" all-seasons: $150.00
those are the only options you can pick with the G8 GT, and you will notice that it doesn't add up to anywhere NEAR $42-45k. So if they are going to sell them for that much and claim there is no dealer mark-up they are full of shit and they should be advised in the most polite way to shove a spiked baseball bat sideways up their collective asses.

Starting price is advertised as $29,995. When one guy told me all about the GT they're getting, I was like "WTF?! THAT expensive??" I agree with you. Based on the monster book I got, there's NO way there could even be close to $12k. Honestly, I'd not pay over $34k OTD for a loaded one.

Yea. My dad is thinking about one and the dealership would sell it optioned out for MSRP. $32k and change I was told.
Sounds like that particular dealer in AZ is going for a $10k+ "market adjustment". That's too bad. I was hoping dealers wouldn't do this. After the dealers kill the momentum, it could result in another GTO esque fire sale though...

You'd have to be a total retard to pay $40k+ for one. :rotfl:

I honestly think that the guy who spouted those numbers was a total tard. There's no way that dealership would survive if they marked up that high, not to mention, the sales manager assured me that they were not going to mark it up. I'm gonna have a field day with them if I stroll in there and see a mark-up on it... lol
