I posted some pics of a white one I saw in person at an auto show in another thread.
Tons of lifeless grey plastic inside.
Big 18s with puny brakes.
However, give it an ls3 and Clubsport type brakes/suspesion and I'd be all over it . . .

Then you will be unimpressed w/ the G8 interior.
I saw it at the Detroit Auto Show, got in and got out....and this car is 'somewhat' up my alley. Screw that POS...everyone and their mother will be riding around in these near me, they could have at least used descent interior materials, it reminds me of a bonneville/grand prix/grand am inside...

The power from the 6.0l V8 is instantaneous, beefy and insistent, there’s something dramatic about a big, powerful engine getting its shoulder behind a heavy car and urging it up the road. It lends the acceleration a satisfying, epic quality through a suitably thunderous soundtrack. As with the GTO, the gearing is long (about 40mph per 1000rpm in top) but the shift is a bit snappier and the clutch light and easy.

I still think you are smoking something funny, its much better than the charger interior (same price range). The base model radio was very underwheelming when compared to the GTs radio though. I spoke to a few people at the show and listened to others comments, all of them I heard were complimentary. My dad and I both thought it was comparable to the GTO interior (he drives one so he knows what he is comparing it to).

the interior is above average for this class of car , i could see how some would argue the GTO's was better , the fit n finish is good , if you start looking at tolerences sure you will see a bigger gaps then say a 100k germa car , but the fundumentals are right , i happen to drive one of these tonight , and the car feels well weighted in the steering , the handling to for a 4000lb car is wow , and the the damping , the brakes where all working together perfect , if you can imagine running flat out on city streets taking corners wildly , irregularities / holes in the road , this car will swallow them up silently , and keep on the line you want it.

My point is...tap on a G8 dash then tap on a mazda dash. The materials in a mazda are much softer/less cheap feeling.
The G8 has hard plastic like my dodge ram everywhere...give me a break. Feels like a sunfire w/ a v8 to me.
The layout/design is fine, just the materials make it feel cheap.
Good materials + good design + hold together can not be that hard with todays technology..

Not that hard, just costs more. I do wish it would have had the squishy sort of plastic material, but then again as long as it doesn't make any noise I couldn't care less. I don't happen to feel up my dash all that often, only when I'm trying to find/stop a squeak or wipe the dust off.

That is almost unbelievable :faint: It's insane to think of a full weight four-door DD running high 11s with bolt-ons. Hell, those rival the best numbers for bolt-on Evos I've seen, and my car weighs a good 600lbs less than the G8!
